Nigeria will today Monday April 7, 2025, welcome Her Royal Highness, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, for a three-day official visit aimed at deepening diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation between both nations.
The royal guest will be received by top Nigerian dignitaries, including the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, who will host her in Abuja shortly after her arrival.
The visit by HRH Princess Victoria marks a significant step in fostering longstanding bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Sweden.
Crown Princess Victoria’s itinerary includes high-level meetings with His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, and an engagement with the Lagos State Governor. A major highlight of her visit will be the commissioning of the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos, an important development in the countries’ shared goal of boosting trade and investment.
The visit further reflects both countries’ mutual interest in sustainable development, gender equality, innovation, and cultural exchange. It is expected to open new chapters of collaboration in areas beneficial to both peoples.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed optimism that the engagements over the next few days will translate into concrete partnerships and renewed momentum in diplomatic relations.
Her Royal Highness is scheduled to depart Nigeria on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, after wrapping up her official engagements in both Abuja and Lagos.
