A 33-year-old married female Mathematics teacher has been arrested in Zimbabwe after a graphic sex video she recorded with her 16-year-old Form 4 student went viral on WhatsApp and TikTok.

The teacher, whose identity is being withheld to protect the minor, allegedly invited the boy to her home for “private lessons” to help him improve his grades. According to the boy’s statement to police and child protection officers:
“I was failing Mathematics.

She promised she could make me understand everything quickly if I came for extra tuition at her house after school.

The first day I went, she locked the door, started touching me, removed my clothes, and forced herself on me. This happened several times.

She was the one recording the videos.”

The boy says the teacher threatened to fail him and tell his parents he was “stubborn” if he refused or told anyone.

The explicit footage, lasting over 8 minutes, shows the fully naked teacher on top of the minor while filming with her phone. It spread like wildfire after the boy confided in a friend who leaked it.

The teacher was arrested yesterday (December 5) and is detained at Harare Central Police Station.

She faces charges of statutory rape, sexual exploitation of a minor, and producing child pornography under Zimbabwe’s Criminal Law Act.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has suspended her with immediate effect and launched an internal investigation.

The boy has been placed under psychological counselling.

Child rights organisations have commended the student for speaking out, saying many male victims suffer in silence due to stigma.

This case has reignited national outrage over teacher-on-student sexual abuse, with demands for mandatory background checks and CCTV in tuition centres.

Justice must not only be done; it must be seen to be done.

No child should ever have to trade their body for grades.
