The Federal Government has closed 41 Unity Schools over issues of rising insecurity in parts of the country.
In a circular released on 21st November 2025, signed by the Director Senior Secondary Education in the Ministry of Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, address to All Principals of Federal Unity Schools, it directed the immediate closure of the listed Unity Schools.
The letter read: Sequel to the recent security challenges in dome parts of the and the need to prevent any security breaches, the Honourable Minister of Education has approved the immediate closure of the listed Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) with immediate effect (see attached).
“Principals of affected Colleges are to ensure strict compliance.
“Please accept the warm regards of the Honourable Minister”.
