The Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has sacked of one of his aides, Isiakpere Hope Jasper for daring to hold different view from that of the governor and Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded February 25 presidential election.
The governor's directive for the sack of the aide was contained in a letter dated 22nd March 2023, was signed by Chief Patrick Ukah, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
According to the letter, the State government was no longer comfortable with Jasper's conducts in the public.
The letter said: “I wish to inform you that your service as Special Assistant on Intelligence Gathering to His Excellency, the governor of Delta State is no longer needed having regard to the fact that you do not share in the philosophy and vision of the State Administration anymore as demonstrated by your general conduct in the public space in recent times.
“Accordingly, your appointment is hereby terminated with immediate effect.
“Please, be guided according and ensure that any government property in your possession is handed over to Mr. Chris Eghrudje, Assistant Director, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Asaba” the letter reads.
