Barr. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga, the Gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State, Friday led His Excellency Peter Obi and the National Party Chairman, Barr. Julius Abure on a solderity visit to the family of the slain senatorial candidate of the party, Barrister Oyibo Chukwu in Amurri, Nkanu East Senatorial Zone of Enugu State.
The Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the February 25th, 2023 Presidential election, Peter Obi used the occasion of the visit to pray for the repose of the soul of Late Barrister Chukwu and urged the family to be consoled by the fact he died for liberation of his people.
He also urged the people of the Enugu State to avenge the death of the late Senatorial candidate, Barrister Oyibo Chukwu by voting for all the candidates of the party in the forthcoming March 18th elections.
His Excellency, Peter Obi according to a statement by one of the aides of Barrister Chijoke Edeoga, Shepherdman Chijioke Iyioku was accompanied on the solderity visit by
Chief Alex Otti, the governorship candidate of LP Abia State, the State Party Chairman, Agbo Casmir Uchenna, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, Deputy Governorship candidate of LP Enugu State, John Nwokeabia and other members of LP in Enugu State.
Obi and his entourage commiserates and consoled the Chukwu's immediate and extended family members and the entire Amurri community.
He reiterated that the only way to avenge the death of Oyibo Chukwu, “is for the people of Enugu to vote on 18th of March for all Labour Party Candidates from A-Z without exception.
Chief Barrster Lucky Chukwu who responded on behalf of the Chukwus thanked His Excellency, Peter Obi, Chijioke Edeoga and all LP candidates and LP family who came to commiserate with them for the brutal murder of their son Oyibo.
He appealed to the people of Enugu to heed the counsel of Peter Obi, “which is to avenge their son's senseless killing by voting Chijioke and all the candidates of Labour Party in the next elections.
While thanking the party for replacing Oyibo with his junior brother, Kelvin, he declared that he was convinced that Edeoga if elected Governor of Enugu State would build Amurri road for the benefit of his people.
