The founder of the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Father Ejike Mbaka, has warned that politics is dividing the nation.
Mbaka, while celebrating Catholic Mothering Sunday at the Adoration ground in Umuchigbo-Nike, Enugu, compared politicians to hawks and vultures.
The cleric added that the religious leaders had offended God during the recently concluded elections of 2023, and that he had beseeched God's forgiveness on their behalf.
Mbaka stated, “On behalf of all the priests and pastors, I apologise for our failures, especially during the election and during this political period. We have offended God in the process, but God should forgive us for our error.
“The power of God is greater than any manipulation, the country is corrupt; let us use the time we spend on politicking to find solutions to our problems.”
Politics is currently dividing Nigerians, and I refer to all these politicians as political hawks and vultures.”
Mbaka, however, stated that he would refrain from discussing politics in order to avoid being sent back to the Monastery.
