Governor Darius Ishaku on Tuesday congratulated the Governor-elect Col. Kefas Agbu (Rtd), and his Deputy, Alh. Aminu Alkali over the victory in Saturday's Governorship election.
Ishaku who stated this shortly after the declaration while fielding questions from newsmen at the presidential lodge in Jalingo thanked the people of the state for massively being in support of the PDP.
“I want to thank all Tarabans despite the frustrations and distractions they endured with us we were able to convince them that PDP is still the most favorable party in the state.
The Governor pointed out that the party has been on the ground since 1999, saying that they hoped to pass itenactand thanked God for the victory.
“Therefore, we are asking all Tarabans to come on board and I hope the incoming administration will continue with all the programs they have had. You know continuity is usually the best thing to do.
Governor Darius Ishaku was, however, optimistic that the people of the state will benefit more from the new administration.
Recalled the Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday declared Lt. Col. Kefas Agbu (Rtd) of PDP, as the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 in Taraba State.
Prof. Muhammad Ahmed Abdul'aziz who was the returning officer and Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi announced the result at the INEC's collation center in Jalingo.
He said Agbu of the PDP scored a total of 257,926 to defeat his closest opponent, Professor Sani Yahaya of the NNPP who pulled 202,277 while senator Emmanuel Bwacha of the APC scored 142,502 and Danladi Baido of SDP got 28,374.
