There was confusion in Katsina State after police officers, attempting to disperse protesters, mistakenly shot one of their own.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Friday the 2nd of August, being the second day of the ongoing protests against bad governance, economic hardship, and hunger.
Eyewitnesses reported that the chaotic scene began when police officers began firing at protesters, resulting in one officer being hit by his colleagues.
The officer was seen lying in a pool of blood surrounded by a crowd as captured in a video clip trending online.
