Ex-RCCG Pastor Sentenced To Prison For Financial Crimes

Ex- pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has been sent to jail for a series of financial crimes.

Ebenezer Oduntan, the former pastor of the City of David Church in Naas, Co Kildare, was convicted of 87 charges of theft and fraud. Oduntan, a 58-year-old father of four, was found guilty of offenses including theft, fraud, and false accounting.

The charges stemmed from his misuse of church funds over a period of several years.

The court heard that Oduntan had used the church’s money for personal expenses, including luxury goods and travel.

He was also accused of forging signatures and falsifying financial records.

Oduntan was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison. The sentence has sent shockwaves through the local community and the wider religious community in Ireland.

The case has raised questions about accountability and financial transparency within religious organizations.
