A family mourning the loss of their grandfather suffered a devastating tragedy as five relatives passed away in a car accident while returning from a condolence visit.
The heartbreaking news was shared by Twitter user @MSIngawa, who announced the passing of their grandfather, Baffa Alhaji Isah Ingawa, on Sunday, January 5th.
In his initial tweet, he wrote, “Innalillahi Wa’inna Ilaihi Raji’un. In the early hours of today, Sunday, January 5th, we lost our grandfather, Baffa Alhaji Isah Ingawa. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites. He was not just a father figure but also the family bond and source of encouragement, knowledge, and wisdom. We pray for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdausi as final abode.”
Tragically, a follow-up tweet revealed that six relatives travelling back to Katsina Town after the condolence visit were involved in a fatal accident.
Three died on the spot, one succumbed to injuries at General Hospital, Mani, and another relative remains in critical condition.
In an update, he added, “Innalillahi Wa’inna Ilaihi Raji’un. Yesterday, this car was with us containing 6 of our relatives who came on a condolence visit to Ingawa for the passing of our grandfather. They had an accident on their way back to Katsina Town, and 3 died instantly, another one died later at General Hospital, Mani.
Their mother was still with us in Ingawa when this happened. She lost her in-law and 4 sons in one day, and we lost 5 members of the family. It’s a sad day for our family and one to remember.”
He concluded with a reflective reminder of life’s fragility, “A gentle reminder that death comes without notice, and every soul shall taste her own at the appointed time, with no extension or reduction. May Allah forgive the departed souls and also grant us the best form of death and the best form of home in the hereafter.”
The incident has drawn widespread sympathy online, with many offering prayers and condolences to the grieving family.

Drama as Suspects Arrested With Cocaine, Pistols Ask Police PRO to Take Photo With Him
The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, was left stunned after two suspected drug dealers requested to take a photograph with him shortly after they were arrested and interrogated.
The suspects, identified as Omini Ezeri, 46, and Chinedum Wagbara, 42, were apprehended during a stop-and-search operation while travelling in a Mercedes-Benz ML SUV with registration number AAA 604 JZ along the Agbarho-Warri Road.
A search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the recovery of two Beretta pistols, a substance suspected to be cocaine, and a dagger. The suspects are currently in police custody, while investigations continue.
As part of the investigation, Edafe interrogated the suspects. Shortly after the interview, the duo surprised the police spokesperson by asking to take a photograph with him.
In a follow-up post shared on social media, Edafe said he had never encountered such behaviour before, explaining that the suspects appeared to become excited once they realised he intended to interview them.
He added that despite being arrested with cocaine and two pistols, which they claimed were used for their drug business, they still requested to take a picture with him after the interrogation.
