After a luminous epoch, characterised by a meritorious service, Reuben Mouka, a veteran ICT journalist and public relations professional, has retired as Director of Public Affairs at the Nigerian Communications Commission ( NCC).
Muoka joined the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, from the Vanguard Newspaper where he was the HI-TECH Editor, some 18 years ago.
He was promoted to the position of the Commission’s Director of Public Affairs (DPA) on Monday, June 20, 2022.
He succeeded Dr Ikechulkwu Adinde, who redeployed in the special duty unit of the Commission.
Muoka had worked in that unut as a principal officer for several years under Engineer Ernest Ndukwe and the late Dr. Eugene Juwah.
He was sent to the special duties and economic policy and analysis departments at some point during the first term of Professor Umar Danbatta as EVC.
He was head of media and public relations from 2009 until 2015, when Danbatta resumed as EVC.
At Vanguard, Muoka worked with Okoh Aihe, who recently retired from the NCC, to run the paper’s Hi-Tech pages and reported ICT for several years.
He left Vanguard to work at MTS First Mobile, a pioneer company in mobile communication in Nigeria, as Corporate Affairs Manager.
Muoka has first and second degrees in Mass Communication.
He was once chairman of the League of Communications Correspondents, a beat association created in 1988 to help ICT journalists become professional ICT reporters.

On behalf of the Senator, Professor Yusha’au Bali, has officially flagged off the completion of a comprehensive health center in Garba Chede, Bali Local Government Area.
This beautiful development addresses a critical need for the community, as the hospital project had remained unfinished for over 40 years.
The residents of Garba chede expressed great joy and gratitude for the Senator’s commitment to finally set to completing the long-awaited healthcare facility.

Democracy Day: Senator Manu rejoices with constituents and Nigerians saying let’s remain steadfast better days are ahead
The Senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial District Senator Haruna Manu has facilitated with his constituents and Nigerians as the country celebrates 27 years of unbroken democracy enjoining Nigerians to remain steadfast.
Senator Manu disclosed this in a congratulatory message where he enjoined his constituents to remain steadfast and still have faith in the Nigerian project as better days are ahead of us.
The immediate past deputy governor of Taraba called on all Nigerians to continue to believe in democratic governance.
He advised youths to remain consistent and actively participate in the Nigerian democratic process as it can speed up their growth in all human endeavours.

DEMOCRACY DAY: Tinubu honours seasoned journalists, Lad Bonuola, Louis Odion, Delee Alake, others with National awards
President Bola Tinubu has conferred national honours on seasoned journalists, Lad Bonuola, Louis Odion, Delete Alake and other Nigerians who played important roles in the country’s fight for democracy.
Tinubu announced the honours on Friday as part of the Democracy Day events.
The President said that June 12 remains a key moment in Nigeria’s path to democracy.
“June 12 occupies a sacred place in our national memory. It represents more than an election; it is a defining chapter in our story,” Tinubu said.
He said Nigerians who benefited from the sacrifices of pro-democracy activists had a duty to protect and deepen democratic institutions.
“As beneficiaries of their struggle, we have a duty to strengthen and deepen the democratic institutions for which they fought. The greatest tribute we can pay is to build a Nigeria where freedom is protected, justice is upheld, opportunity is expanded, and government is accountable,” he added.
Tinubu said the June 12, 1993, election revealed the possibility of a truly united Nigerian nation.
According to him, while the heroes of June 12 secured political freedom, the current generation must work to secure economic freedom.
The President said, “June 12, 1993, revealed the possibility of a true Nigerian nation. The heroes of June 12 secured political freedom. Our challenge is to secure economic freedom.
“Democracy must be felt in the quality of people’s lives, in opportunities for youth, in prosperous farmers, successful entrepreneurs, and the dignity of our workers.
“Every generation has a defining responsibility. The generation of our founding fathers secured independence—the generation of June 12 secured democracy. Our generation must secure prosperity.”
Tinubu said the honourees endured hardship and personal sacrifice in the struggle to restore democracy.
The President said the awardees “suffered persecution, endured indignities, exile, incarceration, and, at times, solitary confinement, so that we have democracy today.”
