Peter Okoye of the defunct Psquare said he now earns more as a solo artiste than he used to as a member of the popular group.

According to him, the solo journey has been a blessing.

Peter Okoye, aka Mr P, stated this in a Facebook post on Monday while reacting to an Instagram post in which his embattled brother and former manager, Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye purportedly called him “broke”.

Peter has been locked in a bitter feud with his twin brother, Paul and their elder brother and former manager, Jude, who is currently being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Jude wrote, “They all have one thing in common: They were big, influential and successful when I was shouldering them with my platform until they got greedy and wanted to eat alone and so left.

“They never complained afterwards. Rather they bragged about their ‘new found freedom’ and ‘making it all on their own’. Years down the line they fell off the wagon and became broke and instead of accepting responsibility and accountability for their choices, they are pointing fingers at the same person they left for their ‘freedom’.”

Sharing a screenshot of Jude’s post, Peter said, “Calling me broke or wishing I was broke has been your wish. These are the exact same words you told the EFCC officials. And you ended up getting locked up in prison.

“Of course, you have to come up with another narrative. You were shouldering who?

“Agbaya, you were employed as a manager, and you got sacked the same as the other 2 managers before you. Period!

“I understand this may not sit well with some people, but truth be told, aside from my businesses, what I now earn on my own as a solo artiste today is more than what I used to earn after splitting three ways as PSQUARE plus the so-called manager.

“I am talking about both shows and endorsements. It really makes me question what’s the point of sharing with people who stole from you, betrayed you, and still discriminate against your efforts!?

“This solo journey has been a blessing—more rewarding and profitable, both financially and personally, no doubt.

“And it has also brought peace of mind. And if you don’t relate or it doesn’t make sense to you, no worries—it’s not meant to. But I am grateful.”

Peter added that he would not be civil in the face of blatant disrespect.

He stated, “I have stopped playing nice and being the matured one while getting disrespected!

“I started treating people exactly how they treat me. Respect me, I respect you! Ignore me, I ignore you! Cross me, I cut you off, simple.

“Life isn’t about begging people for fair treatment! It’s about matching energy; it is what it is.”

After Peter filed a complaint, the EFCC is prosecuting Jude for alleged theft and money laundering, involving sums of $1,019,762.87, £34,537.59, and ₦1.38 billion.

The charges include the unlawful conversion of music royalties and the acquisition of a property worth ₦850 million, allegedly linked to proceeds of unlawful acts, with offences said to have occurred between 2016 and 2023.
