This was the damning verdict of the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, who debunked the flying rumours during an exclusive interview with Arewa PUNCH in Damaturu on Wednesday.

Mohammed, who maintained that the report was false, further described it as an empty speculation.

“It’s a wild dream of the author,” Mamman emphatically stated.

“Someone had earlier speculated this, and it was debunked. It’s an empty speculation.”

According to the media aide, “the report of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s defection to ADC is not true. The report is baseless and unfounded.”

Mohammed explained that Governor Buni, being a two-term governor under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, would certainly be the last person to leave the party.

He insisted, “Governor Buni is not moving an inch away from APC. He has APC flowing in his veins.

“It is a house that he struggled to build as a two-term national secretary and as a chairman.”

Further querying the rumoured allegation, he rhetorically asked, “Leave APC to go where? Perhaps someone or some people dearly wish to have him come over to their party to teach them some of his political sagacity and rich experience.

“For now, Buni remains at home with APC, Mohammed stressed.

He warned speculators to always be mindful of their claims, especially when

it comes to credible and loyal party members like Gov Buni.
