MRt. Hon. Dr. Ali Isa J.C Minority Whip ,Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki
Deputy Minority Leader, Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi
Deputy Minority Whip stating that:
“It is with a heavy heart, and deep sense of loss that the Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives express our sincere condolences to the Ogbeh Family, the government and people of Benue State, and numerous others on the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, one-time National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP); former Minister of Agriculture, and Communications, at the age of 78.
“Members of the Caucus are heartbroken by the death of a resourceful, responsive, and resilient administrator, and politician whose contributions to governance, democracy, and national development will remain indelible in Nigeria’s history. As Minister of Communications – in the Second Republic; National Chairman of the PDP; Minister of Agriculture – in the Fourth Republic; and other positions, he distinguished himself as a principled, courageous, and patriotic statesman.
“We also note that in every assignment, and responsibilities, Chief Ogbeh exhibited excellence, leadership, forthrightness, and commitment in the realization of national goals, and group objectives. At all times, he exudes an inimitable spirit by serving the nation, and humanity with passion, purpose, and persistence.
“Though sorely pained that his wealth of knowledge, experience, and exposures will be missed as our nation forges ahead in the quest for nation building, the Caucus is consoled that he positively impacted many people; within and outside the country while on earth. We are hopeful that his life accomplishments, values, hard work, and ethical standards will serve as an enduring mirror, and compass through which the present, and future generations of Leaders will tap from, and be assessed.
“The Caucus prays that God Almighty will grant the entire Ogbeh Family, friends, associates, acquaintances, supporters, and many others the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. We also pray that God will repose his soul, and grant him eternal rest, Amen.
