A promising interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, has been allegedly murdered in Lagos by her ex-boyfriend, Lintex Ogale, months after she ended their relationship.
The shocking incident occurred late on Wednesday night, sparking outrage from Deborah’s family, neighbours, and human rights activists, who are now demanding justice.
How the Attack Happened
According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect, a native of Otukpo, Benue State, disguised himself as a dispatch rider in order to gain access into Deborah’s estate. When security operatives became suspicious of his identity, he reportedly scaled the fence and made his way directly to her apartment.
Investigations revealed that Ogale allegedly tried to trigger an explosion by cutting the cooking gas pipe outside her residence. When that attempt failed, he forced his way inside the house and stabbed Deborah multiple times, leading to her death on the spot.
A Troubled Past Relationship
A relative of the deceased disclosed that Deborah had ended her relationship with Lintex more than a year ago due to alleged domestic violence. However, the suspect reportedly continued to harass and threaten her.
The family also revealed that Deborah had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme and was gradually building her career in interior design before her life was tragically cut short.
Suspect in Custody
Neighbours, upon hearing her screams, rushed to her rescue and managed to overpower the suspect after a brief struggle. He was immediately handed over to the police and is now in custody.
Activists and relatives are calling for a thorough investigation, urging authorities to ensure the case is not swept under the carpet.
