The Lagos State Domestic and Sexu@l V!olence Agency (DSVA) has reacted to the viral report of a 28-year-old widow simply identified as Tosin who is allegedly being harassed and intimidated by her in-laws eight days after her husband passed away.

In a statement released on Wednesday, July 29, the agency said it successfully established contact with the lady, who alleged that she had been subjected to threats to her life, physical ass@ult, and intimidation following the recent death of her husband. She further informed the Agency that the matter had already been reported to the Owutu Police Division.

The statement added that preliminary feedback from the Police confirms that the alleged perpetrator who, according to Harrison Gwamnishu, is the father-in-law, has been arrested and is currently in custody, while investigations continue.

The agency says the Lagos State Government remains committed to ensuring the safety and protection of the survivor and her children, while working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law.

David Oyedeji Adediwura, a Nigerian has been identified as one of three people who died in a fatal road crash in the United Kingdom.

Adediwura was killed in a collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra and a grey BMW 840i on Cory Wright Way in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, at about 9:38pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Hertfordshire Police confirmed that three men travelling in the Astra, aged in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Following his death, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched by Adediwura’s former colleague from Yodel and DHL, Iretiayo Oyewole, to support his wife and three children during the difficult period.

The fundraising campaign, which has a target of £10,000, is expected to help with funeral arrangements, burial expenses, transportation, and immediate financial support for the bereaved family.

Describing Adediwura’s death as sudden and devastating, Oyewole said the tragedy had left his family, friends, and colleagues struggling to accept the loss.

Oyewole described Adediwura as a hardworking and compassionate colleague who was loved by those around him.

“David was more than a colleague. He was a valued member of our community whose presence, kindness, and contributions touched the lives of those around him.

“He will be remembered for his warm personality, generosity, dedication to his work, and willingness to support others,” he added.

The organiser said the fundraiser was created with the knowledge and consent of Adediwura’s family, urging members of the public to support the campaign through donations or by sharing it.

Meanwhile, Adediwura’s widow, Modinat Adebayo, has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, describing the day of his death as the darkest moment of her life.

She wrote:

“The 22nd of July, 2026, became the darkest day of my life. You left home in search of a better future for our family, never knowing it would be your final journey. A tragic motor accident took you away from us, and our lives changed forever.”

Adebayo described her husband as her best friend, confidant, prayer partner, and biggest supporter, adding that he worked tirelessly to provide a better life for their family.

She also recalled their final conversation before the crash, saying she never imagined it would be their last moment together.

“The last conversation we had on Wednesday night will forever remain in my heart. I never imagined those would be the last words I would ever hear from you. You left without saying goodbye. Your absence has left a pain that words cannot describe.”

The Federal Government has introduced seven herbal medicines developed by the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency to help treat and manage illnesses including prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, hepatitis B, peptic ulcer, hypertension and high cholesterol.Government

The products were unveiled during an official visit by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, to the agenc1y’s office in Lagos.

The Director-General of the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency, Prof. Martins Emeje, said herbal medicines have continued to gain acceptance because they are now produced in standard forms with proper dosage.

Namdavir was developed for the treatment of hepatitis B, while Namdacid is intended for the management of peptic ulcer disease. Another product, Turmegol, is designed for the prevention and management of colorectal, ovarian and prostate cancers.

The agency also introduced Namdorol for managing high cholesterol and hypertension, Namgor as a natural aphrodisiac, and Zobo Tea for people living with hypertension.

Also speaking at the event, the Consul General of India in Lagos, Shri Kannan, said Nigeria and India have many opportunities to work together in traditional medicine.Newspapers.

He said both countries can partner in medicinal plant research, quality control, scientific studies, biodiversity conservation, training, academic exchange and innovation in natural healthcare products.

Kannan noted that Nigeria and India have long histories of using natural medicine and can benefit from sharing knowledge and research to improve healthcare and develop new treatments.
