The National Leadership of Man O’ War has called on the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) to strengthen support for the organization’s operations and activities across the country.
Led by National Commander, NC Adedamola Gbenga, the team made the appeal during a courtesy visit to CLTC Director General, Ms. Rinsola Abiola and attended by the Head of Operations and Rescue, Dr. Abokwara Adjekota Alero, on Friday.
The delegation presented a range of requests, including approval of their code of conduct, consideration of qualified Man O’ War personnel for recruitment, provision of state offices, renewal of rent for their head office in Karu, and replacement of their board of trustees. They also called for targeted recruitment of professionals such as doctors, nurses, and retired teachers, while suggesting internal screening of members before deployment.
In addition, the team proposed a partnership with the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to enhance road safety.
Responding, Ms. Abiola commended the organization’s resilience and acknowledged the value of their contributions. She advised the leadership to align with existing frameworks while working toward any act amendment and assured them that their concerns would be reviewed despite funding challenges.
She further encouraged the officers to demonstrate proactive leadership and directed that all proposals be formally documented for proper consideration and discussion.
The National Commander, NC Gbenga, expressed appreciation to the DG and management team for their audience and reaffirmed Man O’ War’s commitment to projecting a positive image of CLTC through its activities.
