Senator Ned Nwoko has alleged that his wife, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, is currently battling drug and alcohol addiction, describing it as the root of the ongoing problems in their marriage.
In a statement released on Sunday via his official Facebook page, the Delta North senator expressed deep concern over Regina’s health and safety, claiming that her substance abuse struggles have led to violent behavior and erratic conduct at home.
In the statement titled, ‘Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence,’ Nwoko said Regina was not always “like this,” adding that she must continue her rehabilitation program, or he fears for her life and safety.
The lawmaker stated that he had urged his wife to enter a rehabilitation facility either in Asokoro, Abuja, or abroad, particularly in Jordan, where she would not have access to drugs.
He alleged that Regina refused and instead relocated to an undisclosed location where she could easily obtain substances.
The senator said he has other wives, and none have ever accused him of violence. He claimed that Regina is the violent one, having slapped and hit three staff members in the past 48 hours and destroyed property, including cars and windows.
He said, “Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs.
“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting 3 staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause.”
He further accused two individuals, identified as Sammy and Ann, of supplying drugs to the actress.
According to him, one of the incidents that triggered recent chaos in their home involved a confrontation with a nurse who allegedly exposed Regina’s drug use.
The senator representing Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate, said, “The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria especially Jordan where she will not have access to drugs.WAEC Job Vacancies
“A clear headed regina would have taken Moon (the couple’s son) to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse (for exposing her drugs abuse). While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier.”
“Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann,” he added.
Regina Daniels, 25, rose to fame as a child actress and has since become one of Nollywood’s most recognisable faces. She married Senator Nwoko, a lawyer and politician, in 2019, and the couple has two children together.
Earlier, Naijapunchnews reported that the actress had cried out over alleged persistent domestic violence and abuse in her marriage.
In a viral video that surfaced online on Saturday, Regina cried, “Not again, I can’t stand the violence, it is too much.”
The viral video making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) showed Regina surrounded by several people, including a lady believed to be her sister, amid a tense commotion.
In the video, Regina seemed to be fainting as those who surrounded her could be heard requesting water for her.
Meanwhile, she could be heard shouting, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”
At one point, the video depicts men who appeared ready to intervene, including a man holding what looked like a stick, suggesting the situation had become heated.
As she broke down in tears, those around her were seen trying to calm her down, but the immediate cause of the disturbance was not made clear in the recording.
Meanwhile, the video has sparked online speculation about the state of Regina’s marriage to Senator Nwoko. This union has long drawn public attention because of the couple’s 40-year age gap.
In confirmation of the unrest surrounding the incident in the viral video, Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman (known as Sammy West), posted an angry message of support for his sister on his Instagram story.
Danhillman wrote, “Makachi, e pain me say una wan finally laugh my sister. Let me repeat anywhere wey man dey beat woman, wheter na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood.
“Senator Ned Nwoko, you get luck say after you beat my sister again, smash her head for wall, you wan comot send thugs! I swear I for burst all your jaw.”

NNPC slashes petrol price twice within four days
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has slashed its fuel pump price for the second time within four days.
A market survey on Saturday by DAILY POST showed that NNPCL retail outlets around Airport Junction and Wuse Zone 6 (Berger) in Abuja have reduced their petrol price to N1210 per litre, down from N1260.
This means that the state-owned oil firm slashed the petrol price by N50 per litre.
This comes barely two days after Dangote Refinery reduced its petrol gantry price by N50 to N1,125 per litre.
Recall that four days ago, NNPCL had adjusted its fuel price pump by N75 per litre to N1260.
With the latest drop by NNPCL retail outlets, petrol prices stand between N1210 per litre and N1305 per litre in Abuja and its environs.
The reduction in domestic fuel comes amid falling crude oil prices, which stand at $69 per barrel and $71 per barrel for West Texas Intermediate and Brent crude, respectively, following the easing of the conflict in the Middle East.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu has kept mum amid the clamour by Nigerians for a commensurate drop in domestic fuel pump prices due to the significant reduction in crude oil prices.

Lokoja Court order: INEC speaks on NDC, says it’s yet to receive CTC
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said it is yet to receive the Certified True Copy, CTC, of the Federal High Court judgment that set aside an earlier order directing it to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, as a political party.
INEC revealed this in a statement issued on Saturday by its Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Chairman, Adedayo Oketola.
According to the commission, although it is aware of media reports on the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja on June 26, it cannot comment on the ruling until it obtains and reviews the certified copy.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is aware of reports circulating in the media regarding the judgment delivered on Friday, June 26, 2026, by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, which set aside an earlier order concerning the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
“However, as of this moment, the Commission has not yet received the Certified True Copy, CTC, of the court’s order,” the statement said.
INEC stated that its legal department would study the judgment upon receipt of the CTC before advising the commission on the next course of action.
“Once the Commission’s legal department receives and thoroughly studies the CTC of the judgment, INEC will take an informed, lawful decision in line with the court’s directives.
“Until then, we cannot comment on the specifics of the ruling, and the public is urged to await the Commission’s formal position on the matter,” Oketola added.
Justice Isah Dashen of the Federal High Court in Lokoja had on Friday set aside the court’s December 10, 2025, judgment directing INEC to register the NDC as a political party.
The court held that the rights of the Peace Movement Party were affected by the earlier judgment because it was not joined in the suit despite claiming ownership of the logo relied upon in securing the registration order.
Justice Dashen consequently ordered that all parties be restored to the positions they occupied before the December 2025 judgment and directed that the substantive suit be heard afresh with all necessary parties joined.
The NDC has rejected the ruling and announced plans to appeal the decision. Its National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, maintained that the party had not been deregistered and argued that the trial court lacked jurisdiction to revisit a matter on which it had already delivered a final judgment.
The ruling has also attracted reactions from opposition figures, including the NDC’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the party’s National Leader, Senator Henry Dickson, and other stakeholders, who described the decision as a threat to Nigeria’s multiparty democracy and vowed to challenge it through all available legal channels.
INEC, however, maintained that it would reserve its position on the judgment until it receives and reviews the Certified True Copy.
