The incident occured during the 10th anniversary event of Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, where Remi Tinubu was honoured with the chieftaincy title of Yeye-Asiwaju of Ile Oodua.

A video from the event showed a brief exchange as Governor Adeleke mounted the podium to speak and true to his signature style broke into song. Remi Tinubu, who appeared concerned about time, stepped in, saying she would give him five minutes to conclude, adding that the “music is enough.”

When the governor continued, she was heard threatening to turn off the microphone.

The clip spread fast across X and Instagram, triggering mixed reactions from Nigerians.

Amid the heated online debate, Titi Adeleke took the unexpected route, posting a lengthy congratulatory message to Remi Tinubu instead of reacting to the clash.

Addressing the First Lady as “Mother of the Nation” and “Mummy,” she described the new chieftaincy title as a recognition of Tinubu’s “virtues, impact and dedication to humanity.”

She wrote in part:

“This is another testament to your exemplary impact and dedication to uplifting lives and communities across our country. Congratulations, Mummy!”

Titi Adeleke also saluted the Ooni of Ife while celebrating his 10th coronation anniversary, praising his reign for bringing “monumental developments” to Osun State and the Yoruba race as a whole.
