The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the commencement date for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation Course across the country.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, the scheme disclosed that the orientation exercise will begin nationwide on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
According to the statement, registration of prospective corps members at the 37 NYSC orientation camps nationwide will run from Wednesday, January 21, and close at midnight on Friday, January 23, 2026.
The NYSC also confirmed that the Swearing-in Ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I corps members will take place on Friday, January 23, while the Closing Ceremony of the orientation course is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
Speaking on the development, the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, advised prospective corps members to ensure safe travels to their various states of deployment and warned against embarking on night journeys.
The management of the scheme further urged corps members to strictly comply with the orientation timetable to guarantee a hitch-free and successful programme.
