A member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Solomon Bob, has strongly criticised President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, describing him as “an insignificant and attention-seeking operator punching above his weight” and accusing him of engaging in what he termed “malicious narrative distortion”.

Bob’s remarks followed comments made by Bwala during a television appearance on Friday, where the presidential aide claimed that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, had been “adequately compensated” and suggested that he was preventing the Rivers State governor from effectively governing the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Port Harcourt, Bob dismissed Bwala’s comments as “cheeky, unwarranted, and stemmed from premeditated bile”, insisting that the remarks misrepresented the facts and were deliberately crafted to provoke controversy.

The statementread: “You could see that he deliberately pivoted from the question to talk about the Minister having been adequately compensated, whatever that means. He doesn’t understand the Minister’s contribution to this administration. Clearly, he operates on the fringes. And sadly, he leaves the impression that he sees public office as a gravy train ride. Because public office is about service delivery, not adequate compensation.

“Next, he cheekily downplayed the Minister’s generally acknowledged superlative performance in the FCT by putting it down merely to exiting the TSA. Firstly, exiting the TSA itself was the Minister’s ingenious idea. Secondly, the President’s acceptance underlines his confidence in the Minister’s ability to deliver. That confidence is rooted in his strong record as Rivers governor, for which even President Buhari honoured him – and Buhari was never enamoured of Wike.

“Worse still, Mr. Bwala betrayed his absolute lack of judgment by implying that the Minister is impeding Governor Fubara from governing. The manner of his comment is classic implication framing from a confused individual who dabbles into everything and all things, including those beyond his competence and job description”.

The lawmaker who represents Abua/Odual and Ahoada East constituency of Rivers State., said Bwala “denigrates his office by infusing his public comments with his own sentiments and biases and passing them off as the president’s. But he wasn’t speaking for the President because the President knows who bears responsibilityfor the situation in Rivers. Mr. Bwala doesn’t really speak for the president, by the way. That’s not his remit and he is way down the pecking order of presidential spokesmen.”

Rep. Bob, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions, suggested that Mr Bwala’s comments may be driven by lingering resentment over the defeat of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 general election.

“Mr. Bwala enthusiastically ran his mouth and spoke out of turn because Minister Wike got Atiku Abubakar on toast. Atiku was his boss until he jumped ship. Obviously, he is still overcome with a sense of what might have been, despite grovelling back to get a job in a government made possible by people like the Minister while he was engaged in typical self-serving rants elsewhere”, he added.

Rep. Bob cautioned Bwala to recognise his limits and approach his role with humility, adding that he should be grateful for the position he occupies, as he has yet to demonstrate the competence and credibility required to effectively function in that capacity.

Israel Cautions US Of New Iranian Plot To K!ll President Trump

Israel reportedly shared intelligence with the US about a new Iranian plot to ass@ss!nate US President Donald Trump, according to a report.

The latest assassination plan, reported by the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, July 9, comes after years of Iranian regime threats to k!ll Trump as revenge for the 2020 killing of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Gen. Qasem Soleimani by US forces.

When asked for comment, the White House referred The Post to Trump’s Wednesday remarks at the NATO summit in Ankara.

“They want to take out the US leader — me,” Trump said. “I’m on whatever list. I saw this morning I’m on every single one of their lists. And so far, I guess I’ve been a bit lucky, but maybe that doesn’t last very long.”

“These are evil, sick people,” the president continued. “And we have to root out that cancer. That cancer. You know what you do? You’ve got to cut out cancer early. And that’s the way I feel.”

Trump traveled to Turkey on his new Qatari “palace in the sky” plane, but took a different Air Force One home. The plane switch was a strategic “distraction” to keep the commander-in-chief safe, the White House said.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth, who accompanied the president to the summit, was instructed not to travel to Israel as planned shortly before Trump chose to switch planes in Turkey. It’s unclear if the Iranian threat extended to the war secretary.

The Israelis tipped the US off about the plot earlier this week. The specific threat was not being tracked by US officials before Israel’s warning and has yet to be vetted, CNN reported.

The warning comes as tensions have emerged in President Donald Trump’s relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the conflict with Iran.Executive Branch

Trump on June 1 told Netanyahu he was “f–king crazy” over his attacks on Lebanon, fearing they would provoke more war with Iran.

”You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this,” a US official summarized Trump’s comments, which the president later confirmed to The Post.

The National chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, revealed this via X where he stated that “the party formally received the presidential nomination forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, ahead of the 2027 general election” on Friday .

Yilwatda described the development as a defining moment that reaffirmed the party’s collective resolve to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda and deepen the progress already being recorded across the country.

The development comes amid months of speculation that President Tinubu might replace Shettima with a northern Christian as his vice-presidential candidate ahead of the election.
