The United States Department of State on Friday announced a reward of up to $10m for information on several Iranian officials, including the country’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
The offer was made under the US Department of State Rewards for Justice Programme, which said it was seeking information about individuals it described as “Iranian terrorist leaders.”
This was contained in a poster released by the programme on X.
“These individuals command and direct various elements of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which plans, organises and executes terrorism around the world,” the poster read.
Those listed include Esmail Khatib, Iran’s minister of intelligence; Ali Asghar Hejazi, deputy chief of staff to the supreme leader; Yahya Rahim Safavi, a senior military adviser; and Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s interior minister.
Others mentioned include Ali Larijani, who currently serves as secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council.
The banner also referenced several additional positions without naming specific individuals, including the secretary of the Supreme Defence Council, the head of the supreme leader’s military office, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader.

According to the programme, individuals with information about the officials or about senior IRGC commanders and their networks may submit tips through encrypted messaging platforms or via a communication channel on the Tor network.
It added that those who provide credible information could be eligible for a reward of up to $10m and possible relocation.
The announcement comes amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran following the recent leadership change in Tehran.
Mojtaba Khamenei was named Iran’s new supreme leader on March 8 after the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed during the early stages of the ongoing conflict between Iran and a US-Israel coalition.
The 56-year-old cleric was selected by Iran’s powerful clerical body, the Assembly of Experts, which is responsible for choosing the country’s supreme leader.
Following his appointment, Iran’s powerful military organisation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, pledged allegiance to him as the country faced escalating military confrontation with the United States and Israel.
In his first statement since assuming office, Khamenei vowed that Iran would continue retaliatory actions against its enemies and warned that the conflict would persist until what he described as justice for Iranian casualties was achieved
The statement, which was read on state television rather than delivered in person, also threatened continued pressure on strategic oil routes in the Gulf and warned neighbouring countries hosting US military bases that they could face retaliation.
His absence from public view since taking power has also fuelled speculation about his health, with some US officials claiming he may have been wounded during the conflict, though Iranian authorities say he remains active in leadership.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has assured that all capital projects initiated under President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the nation’s capital will be completed before the end of the administration’s tenure.
Wike gave the assurance during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he said the administration had recorded unprecedented progress in infrastructure development across the FCT.
The minister said the Tinubu administration had commissioned 107 capital projects in the territory, adding that 76 of the projects had already been completed.
According to him, 10 additional projects are expected to be commissioned before the January elections, while the remaining projects would be completed before the expiration of the current administration.
“The President’s administration under Bola Tinubu commissioned 107 capital projects. We have completed 76. Before the January election, we will commission 10, and before the end of his tenure, we would have commissioned all the projects,” Wike said.
He said the FCT Administration had also made significant progress in completing projects inherited from previous administrations.
According to Wike, of the 25 projects inherited from the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, 23 had been completed, while two were ongoing.
He added that six out of eight projects inherited from the administrations of former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua had also been completed, with work continuing on the remaining two.
“We inherited 25 projects from President Buhari and completed 23, while two are currently ongoing.
“We inherited eight projects from the administrations of President Jonathan and President Yar’Adua. We have completed six, while two are ongoing,” he said.
Wike said the Tinubu administration remained committed to ensuring that projects initiated under the Renewed Hope Agenda in the FCT were completed within the President’s tenure.
“Before this tenure expires, every project started under Bola Tinubu would have been completed,” he said.
The minister challenged critics to compare the performance of the current administration in the FCT with that of previous administrations, insisting that the territory had witnessed unprecedented development under Tinubu.
“In the history of the FCT, no government has done what we have done in Abuja. I challenge anyone to come out,” Wike stated.
The African Democratic Congress has given reasons why its presidential flag bearer Atiku Abubakar was absent at the G100 summit in Abuja.
ADC spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, gave the explanation on Tuesday during an interview saying the summit focused on cooperation among political parties rather than individual candidates.
He said the ADC was fully represented at Monday’s meeting, with four of its vice chairmen in attendance, making Atiku’s physical presence unnecessary.
The summit, held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, brought together representatives of major opposition parties to discuss possible cooperation ahead of the 2027 elections.
