The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), who opted for the mock exercise, to print their examination notification slips ahead of the test.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Board said candidates can begin printing their Mock UTME slips from March 23, 2026, through its official portal.
How to Print Mock UTME Slips
According to JAMB, candidates are required to visit its website, click on the “2026 Mock Slip Printing” option, and input their registration numbers to access their examination details.
The Board advised candidates to print their slips early and visit their assigned centres within their selected towns before the examination date to avoid last-minute challenges.
Participation Now Mandatory for Registered Candidates
JAMB stressed that while the mock UTME is generally optional, candidates who indicated interest and successfully secured slots must participate.
The Board warned that failure to take part after opting in could have consequences, noting that absenteeism deprives other candidates of the opportunity to participate in the exercise.
The mock examination is scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Extended Duration and Two-Session Format
The Board also announced an extension of the mock examination duration from two hours to four hours.
It explained that the adjustment is designed to help candidates become more familiar with the Computer-Based Test environment.
To accommodate the extended duration, the exam will be conducted in two sessions on the same day:
First session: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Second session: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Candidates are expected to participate in both sessions.
New CBT System to Be Tested
JAMB Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed that the Board will deploy a new examination engine during the mock exercise.
He explained that the initiative is part of ongoing reforms aimed at improving efficiency, security and overall service delivery in computer-based examinations.
According to him, successful deployment of the new system could significantly transform how CBT examinations are conducted across Nigeria.
The registrar also revealed that JAMB has introduced an alternative examination process to strengthen security and reduce operational pressure.
