The Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), says its air operations across Borno and Adamawa states have killed 103 Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and destroyed several logistics hubs and storage facilities.
The military said the operations, conducted between October 10 and 18, 2026, were part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their logistics and deny them freedom of movement across the North-East.
In a statement issued in Maiduguri on Monday, the Acting Military Information Officer of OPHK, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the operations involved Nigerian Army Aviation, the Nigerian Army Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Regiment and Air Component assets.
According to him, seven intelligence-led airstrikes targeted terrorist locations around Gudumbali in Guzamala Local Government Area; Badu in Monguno; Mairari in Guzamala; an area east of Badu; Duste Uku in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State; and the alternate residence of Abu Saleem, the ISWAP Wali of the South Lake Chad area, in Arina Woje, Monguno Local Government Area.
The military said one of the major successes was recorded on October 18 when a precision airstrike targeted Abu Saleem’s alternate residence following intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.
It said subsequent human intelligence confirmed the deaths of Jindullah, an ISWAP fighter reportedly serving as Abu Saleem’s chief security guard, and Abul Kissa, a member of the group’s Shura Council, alongside several other fighters.
The strike also destroyed the targeted structure and logistics equipment, including nine boat engines and several motorcycles stored at the location, the military said.
According to the statement, the destruction of the facility disrupted ISWAP’s concealment arrangements in the forested area and weakened the group’s ability to use the location as a safe haven.
Earlier, on October 13, a Guardian air asset reportedly tracked 16 terrorists from the Mairari axis to a gathering of more than 100 fighters accompanied by several motorcycles, approximately 23 kilometres east of Badu and 19 kilometres west of Monguno.
The military said a subsequent precision strike on the gathering resulted in the assessed neutralisation of about 30 terrorists, although the extent of damage to the motorcycles could not be immediately confirmed.
Other air operations targeted terrorist elements and facilities around Gudumbali, Badu, Mairari and Duste Uku.
OPHK said the seven operations collectively resulted in the reported deaths of 103 terrorists and the destruction of several logistics hubs and storage facilities, further degrading ISWAP’s operational capabilities.
The task force reaffirmed its commitment to sustained, coordinated air operations and closer cooperation between aviation units and ground forces to deny terrorists safe havens and restore peace and security across the North-East.
