Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo has convened a joint meeting of stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to coordinate political engagement ahead of 2027 general election.
The meeting, scheduled for Sunday, November 1, at the International Convention Centre, Awka, will bring together serving and former political officeholders, party officials, candidates and other stakeholders from both parties.
Soludo, who also serves as the Anambra State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), is convening the meeting as political consultations intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
A circular dated October 22 and signed by the governor’s Chief of Staff and Coordinator of the PCC Secretariat in Anambra State, Ben Nwankwo, announced that the meeting would begin at 1 p.m., with accreditation scheduled to commence at 10 a.m. local time.
“The Governor of Anambra State and Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council, Anambra State, hereby announces a joint stakeholders’ meeting of APGA and APC in Anambra State,” it stated.
Those invited include serving and former governors and deputy governors of Anambra State who remain members of either party, members of the national, zonal and state working committees of APGA and APC, and serving and former members of the National Assembly and the Anambra State House of Assembly.
All APGA and APC candidates for the 2027 general election who remain members of either party are also expected to attend, alongside political appointees in the state and federal governments and members of the Tinubu/APC Presidential Campaign Council from Anambra State.
Other invitees include serving and former local government chairmen, mayors and transition committee chairmen, members of the boards of trustees of both parties from Anambra State, coordinators of Tinubu support groups, and local government officials, women leaders and youth leaders of APGA and APC.
Elected councillors and ward chairmen of both parties, as well as members of the state working committees of the Accord Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are also listed. Additional stakeholders nominated by the state chairmen of APGA and APC and the state PCC coordinator are expected to participate.
“The announcement is intended to ensure that no eligible stakeholder could claim not to have been invited. All persons who fall within the listed categories were deemed invited,” the circular stated.
The meeting comes amid political consultations and realignments ahead of the 2027 general election, with its outcome potentially shaping cooperation between APGA and APC stakeholders in Anambra State and their mobilisation efforts for the presidential campaign.
