Arsenal strengthened their Premier League title challenge on Saturday with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Ezri Konsa opened the scoring in the seventh minute, reacting quickest after Arsenal’s corner created a scramble in the Everton box. The goal gave Mikel Arteta’s side an early advantage.
Arsenal dominated much of the first half and created several opportunities to extend their lead, while Everton struggled to produce sustained attacking pressure. Goalkeeper David Raya was also called into action to deny Thierno Barry as the visitors searched for an equaliser.
The Gunners continued to control proceedings after the break and eventually doubled their advantage in the 69th minute. Gabriel Magalhães rose at the back post to head home a cross from Ben White.
Everton were unable to mount a serious comeback as Arsenal comfortably protected their lead to secure a clean sheet and three valuable points.
The victory moved Arsenal level on points with Manchester City after City suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Aston Villa earlier on Saturday. Arsenal have now won seven of their first eight league matches.
