The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kwara State chapter, has removed the party’s Chairman in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Atanda Musa, from office over alleged anti-party activities.
The party announced Musa’s removal in a letter signed by Alege B.I. on behalf of the ADC Kwara State chapter.
According to the letter, the decision followed the findings of a three-member Disciplinary and Investigative Panel constituted to examine allegations of persistent anti-party activities against the local government chairman.
The party alleged that Musa attended and participated in meetings with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Engr. Kale Kawu, without the knowledge, approval or authorisation of the ADC leadership.
It described the alleged conduct as a violation of the party’s constitution, principles and code of conduct.
The letter stated that Musa’s conduct was subsequently reviewed by the Council of Elders, State Working Committee and State Executive Council of the party.
“After extensive deliberations, the party unanimously resolved that your actions amount to gross misconduct, a breach of party discipline, and anti-party activities that are inconsistent with the values and objectives of the African Democratic Congress,” the party said.
Consequently, the ADC ordered Musa to immediately vacate his position as chairman of the party in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
He was also directed to hand over all party documents, records, official materials and other ADC property in his possession to the appropriate party authority without delay.
The party, however, thanked Musa for his past services and wished him well in his future endeavours.
