Atiku Slams Tinubu Over Hardship, Says President Should Fight Hunger, Not Opposition

Atiku urged Tinubu to prioritise tackling hunger, poverty and insecurity rather than targeting opposition leaders and political parties.
He made the remarks on Tuesday during a press conference at his Abuja residence, where he criticised the administration’s handling of the economy and the growing political tension in the country.

The former Vice-President said millions of Nigerians were struggling to survive amid rising living costs, while businesses were shutting down because of worsening economic conditions.

According to him, the Tinubu administration has left citizens grappling with hunger, poverty and insecurity while allegedly devoting considerable attention to undermining political opponents.
“Fight hunger, not the opposition,” Atiku said.

He expressed concern over the rising prices of food and petroleum products, saying the development had placed unbearable pressure on households and businesses.
Atiku also faulted the government’s handling of insecurity, noting that persistent attacks and other security threats continued to endanger lives and livelihoods across the country.
The ADC presidential candidate further alleged that opposition figures were facing intimidation and harassment as political activities gathered momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

He maintained that the President should concentrate on improving the living conditions of Nigerians, strengthening national security and reviving the economy rather than pursuing political battles against opposition parties.
