The African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, has blamed Nigerians for the country’s worsening economic situation, arguing that citizens have the power to change the situation by voting President Bola Tinubu out of office in the 2027 general elections.
Amaechi urged Nigerians to take responsibility for the country’s future by mobilising and voting against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next presidential election.
He spoke on Thursday at an ADC campaign rally in Kebbi State, where he accused the Tinubu administration of accumulating more debts than the immediate past administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
“How can a man be campaigning that it’s the turn of the South? You will do the turn of the South until you kill us? He said Nigerians should embrace poverty. Why is he not poor? Why has Tinubu refused to embrace poverty?” Amaechi asked.
He maintained that Tinubu had failed to provide solutions to the country’s challenges, insisting that Nigerians themselves held the power to bring about political change.
“Tinubu has no solution, for Christ’s sake. You are the solution. We must go out and march; we must go out and vote,” he said.
Amaechi urged Nigerians to reject political intimidation, ethnic considerations and inducements, and participate actively in the 2027 elections .
