A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed the suit filed by Ogbonna Abarikwu challenging the candidacy of Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, PhD, CON, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) Senatorial Candidate for Abia Central.
The court reportedly held that the case lacked merit, thereby dismissing the challenge to Senator Nwaogu’s candidacy.
It will be recalled that Mr. Abarikwu engaged four Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) in his legal challenge against the senator’s candidacy. 
The ruling represents a significant development ahead of the 2027 National Assembly elections and further reinforces the ongoing legal contest surrounding the Abia Central senatorial race.
Senator Nkechi Nwaogu remains focused on her campaign and her commitment to providing effective, purposeful, and people-oriented representation to the good people of Abia Central Senatorial District.
