The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Kwara State, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, has approved the composition of his campaign council ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The campaign council, according to the ADC, is designed to strengthen political mobilisation, coordinate campaign activities and deepen grassroots engagement across Kwara State’s three senatorial districts and 16 Local Government Areas.
Under the approved structure, Alhaji Mas’ud Adebimpe, a journalist and experienced politician, will serve as Director-General of the campaign council, while Rt. Hon. Gabriel Olatunji Kannajogun was appointed Secretary.
The three senatorial districts will be represented by Deputy Directors-General, with Alhaji Isa Nuhu Funsho overseeing Kwara Central, Elder Adebayo Adetoro handling Kwara South and Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Mohammed, popularly known as Daddy Bob, responsible for Kwara North.
Alhaja Muyibat Tanwa Shittu was appointed Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation.
Other appointments include Dr. Abdulsalam Suleiman Bolakale as Director of Security Matters; Engr. Idris Abubakar, General Services; Alhaja Abdulrasheed Riskat Olohenoje, Women Affairs; and Mr. Akinlolu Abayomi, Media Services and Campaign Spokesperson.
Mallam Musa Sarki Abdullahi will head Youth Affairs, while Mr. Kehinde Ogundele will oversee Research and Electoral Matters. Alhaja Zainab Mohammed was appointed Director of Support Groups.
Mr. Abdulwaheed Olomoda will head the New Media department, while Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf Kilishi will oversee the administration of the campaign secretariat.
The party said the Council of Elders and the state chairman of the ADC would constitute the advisory organ of the campaign council, providing strategic guidance and political counsel to the campaign leadership.
The campaign structure will also include senatorial district coordinators, Local Government Area coordinators, ward coordinators, 10 canvassers per ward and polling unit executive members.
According to the party, the grassroots structure is intended to facilitate voter outreach, community engagement, political mobilisation and effective coordination of campaign activities from the state level down to individual polling units.
The ADC said the composition of the campaign council reflected its determination to build an inclusive and people-oriented political organisation capable of reaching communities across Kwara State.
Mohammed urged the newly appointed officials, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters to work with unity, discipline and commitment towards the campaign’s objectives.
The campaign, the party said, would be driven by its “Mai Jama’a – Fresh Thinking” philosophy, with emphasis on people-centred governance, accountability, inclusion and sustainable development.
The ADC governorship candidate also congratulated the appointees and charged them to deploy their experience, political networks and organisational capacity towards building a strong campaign ahead of the election.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the ADC Kwara State Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Bolaji Alege.
