In a major transfer coup, Arsenal Football Club has announced the signing of Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The 28-year-old England international expressed his excitement about joining the Gunners, calling it an “unbelievable feeling”.

Sterling, who has been linked with a move away from Chelsea throughout the summer, revealed that he was drawn to Arsenal’s “hunger” and “togetherness”. He praised the team’s journey under manager Mikel Arteta, whom he worked with during his time at Manchester City.

“I’m buzzing to be here,” Sterling said in a statement. “This is a perfect fit for me. I see the journey the boys are on, and the hunger, and I keep saying again, the togetherness is something I’m looking to be part of.”

Paris Saint-Germain of France has secured the Ligue 1 title on Saturday with 1-0 win at home to Angers enough to gave them an unassailable lead over nearest challengers Monaco with six games of the season still to play.

This is PSG’s 13th title overall, a French record, and their 11th in the last 13 seasons, this highlighting the extent to which the Parisian have dominated the league since being taken over by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011

PSG still have the chance of repeating last season’s domestic treble and, with a Champions League quarter-final coming up against Aston Villa next week, a first European title is in a serious possibility.

Winning titles is nothing new to the French champions but PSG team under Luis Enrique has helped turn them from a team long associated with egos and big-money into a vibrant, youthful and thrilling team to watch.

Victor Osimhen delivered a stunning performance on Wednesday as his brace secured Galatasaray a 2-1 victory over Fenerbahce in the final stage of the Turkish Cup, eliminating José Mourinho’s side from the competition.

Osimhen opened the scoring in the 10th minute, putting Galatasaray ahead with a well-taken shot from the edge of the box.

The Nigerian striker then doubled his tally in the 27th minute from the penalty spot, giving his team a comfortable 2-0 lead before halftime.

Fenerbahce managed to pull one back just before the break, with Sebastian Szymański finding the net in first-half stoppage time (45+1’), but it was not enough to turn the tide.
