Brief autobiography of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope

1- Pope Obumneme Odonwodo populary known as Junior Pope is a Nollywood actor.

2- He was born on 7th May 1984 in Bamenda, Cameroun to Mr. and Mrs. Luke Odonwodo as an only child.

3- He hails from Ukehe tribe of Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. But he grew up in Cameroon .

(4) He completed both his primary & secondary school education in Cameroon before relocating to Nigeria.

(5) After his college he went further to University of Nigeria Nsukka Enugu State and graduated with a degree in Accountancy. In 2006 he joined Nollywood and acted in many movies.

(6) He always plays the role of guard and servant. In 2007 he rose to fame after acting in the blockbuster movie “Secret Adventures” directed by Tchidi Chikere. According to him, it was the award winning movie director “Tchidi Chikere” that brought him to limelight.

(7) He has acted in over 200 movies which include Secret Adventures, Bitter Generation, Véngeance of Bullet, etc. In 2010 he won the award for Nollywood Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the Entertainment Factory Awards.

(8) On 26th July 2014 Junior Pope got married to Jennifer Awele Okpuno and the couples are blessed with three boys.
Sadly he left this world on the 10 April 2024 as he drowned during a movie set.

DJ Cuppy launches scholarship for African students

Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has introduced a scholarship programme to support African students at New York University (NYU).

The DJ and philanthropist announced the launch of the “Cuppy Fund” on Instagram, sharing her excitement about the initiative aimed at providing financial aid to African students pursuing studies at NYU.

“So PROUD to launch the Cuppy Fund for African students at New York University! 💜🎓🕊️ @cuppyfoundation @nyusteinhardt,” Cuppy wrote in her post.

Cuppy holds an impressive academic background. She earned a degree in business and economics from King’s College London in 2014 and completed a master’s degree in music business from NYU in 2015. In 2022, she graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in African studies, and she recently completed her fourth degree at the London School of Economics.

Her philanthropic efforts began in 2018 with the establishment of the Cuppy Foundation. The foundation raised over N5 billion for the “Save the Children” initiative in Nigeria in 2019.

In recognition of her charitable contributions, Cuppy was named an ambassador for the Lagos SDGs Youth Alliance in 2021.

This new scholarship programme marks another milestone in DJ Cuppy’s ongoing commitment to empowering African youth through education and philanthropy.

Famous Nigerian comedians Basketmouth and AY Makun have officially settled their 18-year-long feud.

Recalls that the duo have been in the news over their lingering feud.

However, Basketmouth, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, shared a light-hearted video of their recent interaction.

The video, which signifies a major reconciliation between the comedians, captured the moment Basketmouth sought advice from AY following his discussion with actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD.

Reacting to the development, many netizens, including celebrities and colleagues, have taken to the comment section to express their joy over the reunion.
