Just in: Jubilation As Banky W And Adesua Etomi Welcome 2nd Child In US
Renowned Nigerian R&B singer and entrepreneur, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W and his actress wife Adesua Etomi have welcomed the arrival of their second child — a baby boy.
Banky W shared the news on Instagram with a heartwarming video showcasing his hands-on approach to family life since the baby’s birth.
The video features him cooking, helping around the house, and supporting Adesua.
“But more importantly than that I am a husband and a father. We just had our second child who is an amazing young boy,” he said in the video.
Since the baby’s arrival, Banky W said he has taken on various roles, from chef and housekeeper to homework helper and masseuse.
The singer also advocated for gender equality, saying “supporting women’s economic power means doing my part in our home and community”.
“Partnership is 100-100, not 50-50. That means that in this season, I’ve been a chef, housekeeper, nanny, homework teacher, masseuse, and more all as part of my duty as a supportive husband and present father of two . And honestly, I couldn’t be happier,” the post’s caption reads in part.
“Supporting Women’s Economic Power means doing my part in our home.”
Adesua expressed gratitude in the comment section, calling Banky W “the best partner in the entire world”.
The actress announced her pregnancy on October 14. The new addition makes them a family of four.
In November 2017, Banky tied the knot with Adesua in South Africa. The couple welcomed their first child Hazaiah Olusegun Wellington in 2021.
Banky had previously said that fatherhood is “my favourite job description”.
“The boy is so full of life. He is everything we hoped for and more. Every morning, I’m the first person he sees, before his mom or the nanny,” he said.
The singer-turned-politician recently relocated to the United States with his family.

South Africa to strip Chidimma Adetshina of citizenship, travel documents
By Francesca Hangeior
Chidimma Adetshina, the beauty queen who made headlines for her nationality controversy, is to be stripped of her South African identity and travel documents.
This decision comes after an investigation by the Department of Home Affairs, which questioned her eligibility to compete in the Miss South Africa pageant due to her mother’s Mozambican roots and Nigerian father.
Adetshina, a law student born in Soweto, South Africa, withdrew from the competition in August amid allegations that her mother may have committed “identity theft” to obtain South African nationality.
Following her exit, the law student accepted an invitation to compete in Miss Universe Nigeria, and won the title. She is in Mexico to represent the country at the Miss Universe competition.
The controversy surrounding Adetshina’s nationality sparked a wave of xenophobic vitriol in South Africa, leaving her traumatised and in need of therapy.
In an interview with the BBC, she expressed emotional distress and revealed plans to seek professional help.
In a recent announcement to a parliamentary committee, Tommy Makhode, the top civil servant at the Department of Home Affairs, confirmed that Adetshina’s documents would be revoked due to her and her mother’s failure to provide reasons for eligibility by the deadline.
The case has been referred to the Hawks, a special police unit investigating serious crimes, which has concluded that it was a “case of fraud.”
Makhode noted that prosecutors are reviewing the matter and further decisions will be made from them.
Adetshina has maintained her pride in her South African and Nigerian heritage.
