Just in: Court says Ex-Kogi Gov Yahaya Bello has no regard for legal system
… insists he must appear in court
By Kayode Sanni-Arewa
the Federal High Court in Abuja says it will not accept the plea made by former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, to vacate the arrest warrant issued against him by the court.
The judge stressed that Bello’s refusal to appear for arraignment in a criminal charge constituted contempt of court, thus disqualifying him from any leniency or special treatment.
In his ruling delivered on Friday, the court asserted that Bello’s persistent evasion of arraignment demonstrated a lack of respect for the legal process, stating that he cannot dictate terms to the court from the comfort of his own space.
Additionally, the court dismissed Bello’s argument challenging the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court to hear the criminal charges against him. Justice Nwite maintained that Bello must first present himself for arraignment and have his plea recorded before pursuing any legal motions.
Bello had contended that the arrest warrant was unnecessary, citing his legal representative’s acceptance of the criminal charges on his behalf.
However, the court found this argument lacking in merit.
The case revolves around allegations of an N80 billion money laundering scheme brought against Bello by the Federal Government.

EFCC’s Invitation: Count me out, I won’t honour it- VeryDarkMan
By Kayode Sanni-Arewa
Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has raised an alarm alleging harassment and corruption by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement, VeryDarkMan claimed that the EFCC invited him to their Lagos office after he exposed popular crossdresser, Bobrisky, for allegedly bribing EFCC officials with N15 million.
VeryDarkMan expressed distrust in the EFCC, stating that he won’t honor the invitation due to lack of faith in the commission’s integrity. He demanded that the EFCC investigate its officers who handled Bobrisky’s case before inviting him.
“Why should I come to your Lagos office when the EFCC headquarters is in Abuja?” VeryDarkMan questioned.
He further alleged that the EFCC’s motive is to silence him, as he doesn’t have a “godfather” or N15 million to secure VIP treatment.
