By Kayode Sanni-Arewa
A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth, Dr. Prosper Otega Ejenarhome, has called on the residents of Ethiope East Local Government Area to come out in large numbers to vote for Chief Augustine Ogedegbe, the PDP candidate for the Ethiope East Local Government chairmanship. Dr. Otega made this appeal during a visit to Chief Ogedegbe in Ovu, highlighting the significant benefits that Ogedegbe’s leadership could bring if he is elected in the upcoming July 13 elections.
Dr. Otega emphasized that security is a top priority in Ogedegbe’s agenda. He assured that, if elected, Ogedegbe would be dedicated to ensuring the safety of lives and property by working closely with the state government, the Nigeria Police, and other relevant security agencies to address kidnappings and other threats to public safety in the local government and its surrounding areas.
“By establishing a secure environment, businesses will thrive, leading to job creation and improved living standards for the community.
Undoubtedly, he will bring a fresh perspective to the council and implement positive changes for the benefit of all. I am confident that he will manage the limited resources at his disposal judiciously to ensure the satisfaction and well-being of the people,” Dr. Otega stated.
He also mentioned that Chief Ogedegbe has already outlined plans for the positive development of Ethiope East, aiming to transform it into a unified urban area that will attract investors to the LGA. Additionally, Ogedegbe has promised to include the youth in his administration and provide youth-centered policies to support the young people of Ethiope East LGA.
Dr. Otega stressed the importance of supporting primary education as a cornerstone of societal progress. He assured that if elected, Ogedegbe would ensure that teachers receive proper incentives and supervision to guarantee quality education for all in the council.
He observed that 95 percent of the opposition party members in the local government area support Chief Ogedegbe due to his past achievements as a community leader. “I have no doubt that Chief Augustine Ogedegbe will emerge victorious in the upcoming local government election.
This is because everywhere you go in Ethiope East, people are yearning for Chief Ogedegbe.
“Even members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East are supporting him because of their positive experiences with him in the past,” he remarked.
Also present at the event were the Ethiope East LGA Party Chairman, Hon. Felix Ejovwoke Erhimedafe, and Hon. Irayomarun Onome.
