Police manhandle Adeyanju, VeryDarkMan, Other Protesters In Abuja On Day 2
By Kayode Sanni-Arewa
Officers of the Nigerian Police Force on Friday, fired teargas canisters at protesters assembling at the popular Berger roundabout in Abuja.
Journalists covering the procession were not spared, as they were also tear-gassed.
It was gathered that Human Rights Lawyer, Deji Adeyanju and social media influencer, Verydarkman were among the victims.
Recall that Martin Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of attempting to intimidate #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters by limiting their demonstration to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
VDM argued that the protesters, who are not footballers, have no need to gather at the stadium.
Moments before police deployed teargas at the Berger Roundabout in Abuja on Friday, Otse urged President Bola Tinubu to address the protesters’ concerns.
He also cautioned the protesters against resorting to violence, stating that he would personally report any individuals engaging in violent behavior to the authorities.
The nationwide protest, which began on Thursday in Abuja and other parts of the country, aims to bring attention to issues of hunger and poor governance.

By Francesca Hangeior
The All Progressives Congress has congratulated the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his re-election in the just-concluded governorship election.

“Your Excellency’s resounding victory in the just-concluded Ondo State gubernatorial election is a clear attestation that your administration’s policies and programmes and campaign message of hope and consolidation have resonated deeply with the electorate.
