Sad! Five Policemen Returning From Edo Election Duty Die In Autocrash

Five policemen died on Tuesday in a road accident on their way from Edo to Kano State.

Kano Police Commissioner, Salmam Garba, who confirmed the death of the five officers, said the accident occurred along Kano-Zaria express way.

About eight others injured in the crash are being treated in an hospital, he informed.

“The deceased officers are from Kano state police command. There were drafted to Edo state for election duty, where they carried out their assignment successfully.

“Sadly, they lost their lives at Karfi, when their vehicle had a head-on collision with a reversing trailer,” Garba said.

It was gathered the driver of the trailer is among the eight survivors receiving treatment at an hospital in Kano.

CP Dogo, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, said the Command was taking measures to ensure that the wounded officers receive adequate treatment and survive.

He described the deaths as shocking and prayed God to give the Command and families of the dead the fortitude to bear the loss.

“It is unfortunate, we lost five of our officers to a fatal accident at Karfi, along Kano-Zaria Road.

“They were returning from Edo state where they were drafted to maintain law and order during the election.

“About eight of them, including the driver of the trailer are in the hospital.

“Their vehicle had a collision with a reversing trailer,” he said.

There was confusion on Tuesday morning following a deadly explosion near the Terminus market in Jos disrupting local businesses and communities

The blast, which occurred around 10:30 a.m., sent shockwaves through the area as residents scamper for safety.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a deafening bang followed by chaos, with people rushing to escape. Although some sustained injuries, there have been no confirmed fatalities

Emergency services, including police and ambulances, arrived quickly to control the situation. Authorities cordoned off the area, and additional security was deployed to maintain order and secure the vicinity. Businesses around the market were temporarily closed, and nearby residents were advised to evacuate.

The anti-bomb squad responded promptly, neutralizing and safely removing the explosive device. Investigations are underway, and authorities are expected to release further information as details emerge.

Nigeria must split for Igbos to survive – Omoyele Sowore

Ex- presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that there’s a secret memo in the government to “be careful of Igbos”.

He stated that the Igbos can’t thrive in the current setup of the country, stressing that Nigeria must break up for them to survive.

Sowore was featured on a recent episode of the Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by actor Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu.

He said, “Nigeria has an Igbo problem. There is a secret memo in the government to be careful of Igbos. The memo is against giving the Igbos political positions and opportunities.

“For an Igbo man to survive in Nigeria as it is currently put together, Nigeria must break.”
