REVEALED: How Bobrisky Spent Less Than A Month In Prison

By Mario Deepromoter
Nigerian transgender, Okuneye Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, reportedly spent less than a month in prison following a six-month sentence for naira abuse in April, according to a report by FIJ.
On Tuesday, social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, known online as VeryDarkMan, shared a recorded phone conversation in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to serving the majority of her sentence outside of prison.
She also claimed to have paid N15 million to have the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) drop charges of ‘money laundering’ against her.
These revelations have reignited discussions about corruption within Nigerian prisons. In response, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has ordered “a thorough and unconditional investigation into the allegations of bribery and corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service.”
Sources close to the situation informed FIJ on Thursday that while Bobrisky was initially taken to Kirikiri prison after her sentencing in April, she left after only three weeks and was officially released in August.
‘Guarded Like a President’
An official from Kirikiri prison shared with FIJ, “Bob spent only three weeks here with us in Kirikiri before she was taken out to another place we don’t know. That was where she spent her time; it was an ‘arrangee thing’. And money was involved.”
The source added that Bobrisky was “guarded like a president” until she was quietly removed from the prison.
“She received VIP treatment all through,” the source continued. “She lived in a special cell. The money she said she paid is actually true; no lies. Yes, she paid the money.”
These claims align with a 2019 undercover investigation by FIJ founder ‘Fisayo Soyombo, where he intentionally got himself arrested and imprisoned, exposing the fact that it was possible to bribe prison officials for privileges such as living in furnished cells, bringing in contraband items, and even avoiding the prison sentence entirely.
Video Call Incident with Bobrisky
The source also recounted a notable incident during Bobrisky’s time at Kirikiri. While prison authorities kept her isolated from other inmates, one event stood out.
“There was this day one guy was on a video call with his girlfriend, and he suddenly turned the camera on Bobrisky,” the official shared. “It was deemed an invasion of Bobrisky’s privacy, so, as punishment, he was locked up in his cell for nearly two months.”
The source added, “As I said, she was heavily guarded, so there weren’t many of such incidents to point at. And she was quietly taken away after three weeks.”
James Brown’s Visit to Bobrisky?
After Otse released the audio recording, social media users began questioning whom James Brown, another well-known crossdresser, visited in Kirikiri prison when she claimed to have visited Bobrisky on June 8.
“By the time James visited,” Bobrisky was no longer in prison, a source from James’ camp revealed to FIJ on Thursday.
“James went there to see one guy called Vindicate who had invited her to collaborate on recording a song from prison. The prison authorities liked the idea of a song recorded from prison, so they let her come.”
No Denial from the Prison Service
As of now, the Nigerian Correctional Service has not publicly denied or confirmed the claims that Bobrisky did not fully serve her jail term at Kirikiri.
However, on Thursday night, the Interior Ministry announced that two deputy controllers of corrections (DCCs) in charge of the medium-security custodial center at Kirikiri, Michael Anugwa and Sikiru Adekunle, had been suspended “over their unprofessional conduct in handling the case of Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.”
Ja’afaru Ahmed, the secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, announced that the suspension was necessary to allow for further investigation.

Mohbad’s Inquest: Pathologist reveals major findings following 2nd autopsy

The Coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, presiding over the inquest into the death of late singer Mohbad, has announced that the date for delivering the final decision will be communicated to all parties involved.
This development came on Friday during a session at the Magistrates’ Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, where the last witness, forensic pathologist Dr. Uwom Eze, testified. Dr. Eze conducted the second autopsy and a medical review on Mohbad’s remains after public pressure led to an independent examination.
Under cross-examination by Abiodun Kolawole, representing the African Women Lawyers Association, Dr. Eze disclosed that Mohbad was not found to be abusing hard drugs, contrary to widespread allegations. He revealed that the singer had been administered “regulated” doses of antihistamines and painkillers — medications typically used to treat allergies and manage pain — indicating Mohbad was experiencing significant discomfort before his death.
However, Dr. Eze noted a critical gap: he could not ascertain how the injection that reportedly preceded Mohbad’s death was administered due to a lack of available information. He explained that during the autopsy, he examined an injury on the back of Mohbad’s right arm for potential deeper penetration that could have led to death, but found the wound to be superficial.
“Even a newborn baby won’t die from that injury. At the time I conducted the autopsy, the injury wasn’t even there, perhaps due to post-mortem changes. I couldn’t tell how the injection was given, because I had already lost (his) fluids,” Eze said.
At an earlier session, Dr. Eze had stated that the cause of death could not be conclusively determined because of the advanced stage of decomposition. Nevertheless, he pointed to the likelihood of a “severe and rapid hypersensitivity reaction” — a strong allergic reaction — caused by a substance administered via injection.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, shortly after sustaining an injury and being treated at his Lekki home. He reportedly developed convulsions after being given an injection by a nurse and died soon after. He was buried the following day.
Dr. Eze also stated, when questioned by the family’s lead counsel Wahab Shittu (SAN), that the treatment given to the late singer by the nurse resembled a case of “medical misadventure.”
As the inquest nears its end, the public and all parties await the coroner’s final decision, which is expected to address the lingering questions surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death.

My Husband Died During a Live Stream – Pregnant Wife of Popular TikToker

The wife of popular TikToker known as Disturbing, who was involved in the ‘JUSTICE FOR MOHBAD’ movement, has narrated how her husband died during a live stream.
The news was confirmed by investigative journalist Temilola Sobola, who shared the viral footage with the caption, “A popular TikToker known as Disturbing who was also into JUSTICE FOR MOHBAD passed away some hours ago while he was on a live video…”
The disturbing incident, which has gone viral across various social media platforms, captured the final moments of the content creator as he appeared to suffer what looks like seizure before passing away in front of camera.
Disturbing, who became popular for his consistent involvement in the “Justice for Mohbad” movement, was visibly distressed before collapsing. He never recovered.
Netizens commented that Disturbing had been seen vocally cursing individuals linked to the late singer Mohbad’s case, including Mohbad’s mother, widow, his brother Adura, and Liam, during his live broadcast.
Reacting to the incident, the wife said her husband had a seizure during live stream, fell down and hit his head on a stone that was in front of him
According to her, “Yesterday morning, my husband was on TikTok live video while I was cooking his food in the kitchen. Suddenly, he had a seizure, fell down and hit his head on a stone that was in front of him.
B*l00d was coming out of his head. A young boy and some neighbours that were passing by saw him. They thought he fainted so they started pouring water on him.
A young boy ran inside and called me from the kitchen. When I got there, I told them to stop pouring water, that it was seizure. We quickly rushed him to the hospital where they placed him on oxygen. He passed away this morning.
That was not the first time he would be having seizures. He used to have it and he was on medications. The last time he had it was in February this year.
I have never left him to be by himself because of this seizure. If not that I was cooking in the kitchen, I would have grabbed him when the seizure happened.
To everyone saying it was a spiritual attack, I don’t believe it. It was a medical condition he had been battling with for a long time…”
Breaking News: A well known TikToker who was recognized for advocating justiceformohbad and pleading with his family to bury him, has tragically passed away during a live stream. The cause of his death remains unknown, with some speculating it may have been a spiritual attack.
