The leadership of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), National Assembly Chapter, has strongly refuted allegations of misappropriating N3 billion in union funds.

The PASAN Chairman, Comrade Sunday Sabiyyi, alongside the association’s Secretary, Comrade David Ann Ebizimoh, dismissed the claims as frivolous, baseless, and defamatory in a statement issued over the weekend in Abuja.

The accusations were initially made by a PASAN member, Yusuf Abiola, who, during a press conference, demanded audited financial statements and operational reports from the union’s executive from 2019 to date.

In response, Comrade Sabiyyi assured the public that the NASS PASAN Executive Council has always adhered to constitutional procedures, maintaining transparency and accountability in managing the association’s finances.

He emphasized that all funds have been appropriately used for the benefit of members, with accurate records maintained.

Sabiyyi also highlighted the impossibility of the alleged N3 billion being generated by the union, including contributions from its 36 State Chapters and the FCT Zone.

He urged members of PASAN and the public to dismiss the claims as a form of blackmail intended to distract the union from its mandate.
