Oko Orisan Community Stands In Solidarity With Mosadoluwa Of Harmony Gardens
Condemns Misleading And Defamatory Attacks On Him

Residents of Oko Orisan Community in Epe area of Lagos State have frowned at the malicious publication against the Chairman/CEO of Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Limited, Honourable (Alhaji) Saheed Audullahi Mosadoluwa aka Ibile.
They also demanded a retraction of what they described as a libelous statement against their benefactor, (Alhaji Mosadoluwa) which was published in Sahara Reporters on Wednesday March 19, 2025.
Reacting in a statement on Thursday, March 20, 2025, on behalf of Oko Orisan Community, Rev. (Mrs) Kemisola Oduntan denied the content of the report, titled: “Notorious Land Grabber Saheed ‘Ibile’ Mosadoluwa’s Injury Cover-Up Exposed As Medical Report Confirms Gunshot Wounds” and the innuendoes contained in it, published on Wednesday.
She said every allegation against Alhaji Mosadoluwa in the said publication was false and defamatory of his person and character.
The cleric described the misleading and malicious publication as a direct attack on the fundamental human rights of Alhaji Mosadoluwa which could cause him reputational damage, adding that it was callous for Sahara Reporters not to conduct its investigation properly before going to press, rather it chose to malign the integrity of a high profile Nigerian known for philanthropic and humanitarian gestures, who stands tall in taking the credit of keeping the record of impacting numerous lives positively in and outside the Epe community.
Investigations vividly revealed that the Naval Base in Oko Orisan and Majestic Bay Estate owned by Alhaji Audullahi Saheed Mosadoluwa had no land dispute whatsoever, despite the fact that they share boundaries. Checks further have it that the previous Naval officers deployed to that neighborhood for routine security have been living in peace and harmony with the entire Oju-Ota and Oko Orisan communities until the recent assassination attempt on Honourable Mosadoluwa and his son, a ugly incident which took place a few weeks back.
The statement reads in parts, “The malicious and misleading publication in Sahara Reporters on Wednesday March 19, 2025 against Honourable Saheed Audullahi Mosadoluwa was the height of junk journalism. The beauty of that noble profession is investigation and proper and unbiased balancing of stories with strict adherence to ethical considerations and guidelines. This is not the case in this instance, however Sahara Reporters chose to drag the name of a responsible and law abiding citizen known to our community in the mud with the intent to satisfy the bidding of its pay masters without recourse to what excellent journalism stands for. Worse still it came up with misleading medical records which in any way did not uphold the merit of the vicious, callous, and misleading reports captured in the news portal.
“We also task the DSS officials to query the purported medical document which Sahara Reporters published and also engage the officials of Ogba Magistrate Court on how sensitive and classified documents kept in trust and in their custody got leaked. Such actions are not only unjustifiable but also reflect the increasing hostility against such an affable and amiable employer of labour, a taxpayer, a man of high moral rectitude, highly decorous, disciplined and of flawless dignity, this is reprehensible and totally unacceptable. We also state unequivocally that there was no case of land-grabbing activities at all, in Oko Orisan Community as falsely published. What previously happened in the community was a clear case of assasination attempt which was foiled and the erring Naval officers and the assailants are already answering questions by the relevant authorities in accordance with the law of Nigeria.
“The foregoing publications, which are in fact untrue, baseless and misleading that said some bad eggs in Navy Uniform attempted to assassinate the owner of Majestic Bay, Oju-Ota in Oko Orisan but narrowly escaped with his son must be thoroughly investigated and not swept under the carpet. Enough of malicious, and defamatory publication by Sahara Reporters to impugn the reputation of Alhaji Mosadoluwa and Oko Orisan as a community, is a crass misadventure and will surely attract legal implications in due course. This is because the media is expected to uphold its hallmark which is truth and good conscience.
“Sahara Reporters ought to be aware that as a news and media platform, it is duty bound to disseminate only credible and factual information. Your publication, which is laced with falsehoods, specifically injures the reputation of our benefactor and as well lowered his reputation before right thinking members of the public. In the light of the foregoing, we demand the immediate retraction of the said publication of 19th March, 2025, an apology to be published on your media platform.
“Be advised that in the absence or failure to comply with the forgoing demands within 7 days of this statement, the community shall commence appropriate legal actions in court against your organization. Nigeria is governed by law, therefore no one should be seen to be above the law, peddling falsehoods or misrepresenting facts under any guise, including the media, especially Sahara Reporters.”
The community also called on all relevant stakeholders including the media to join them in condemning persistent media attacks on Alhaji Mosadoluwa, by Sahara Reporters and its ilk, while also emphasizing that such actions undermine the tenets of constitutional democracy and the principles of excellent journalism and propriety.
Suspended senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central), has said that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, once made a suggestive comment about her waist movements.
She made the allegation in an interview with BBC, adding that Akpabio would “squeeze my hands in a very suggestive way”.
“We women, we know what it means when a man squeezes our hands in a suggestive way,” she added.
Natasha Akpoti told the BBC reporter: “There was a time I forgot to wear my ring because I rushed to work. And there were about five senators there.
“And Akpabio said ‘oh Natasha, you are not wearing your ring… is this an invitation to treat?
“There was another time he made a statement like ‘Natasha, your husband is really enjoying. It looks like you’d be able to make good movements with your waist’.
“He makes such sexist statements.”
Asked how other senators react, Natasha Akpoti said: “And then they (other senators) all laughed.
“People don’t understand what it means to carry this. Maybe we don’t talk about it enough in Nigeria or Africa.
“I just want a place where I would just work. I thought the worst was over, but I guess for a woman, it’s never really over, right?”
Recall that the Senate suspended Natasha Akpoti on March 6 for “gross misconduct and unruly behaviour” after an altercation with the Senate President over seating arrangements.
The suspension came barely 24 hours day after she submitted a sexual harassment petition against Akpabio.
However, the Senate had insisted that Natasha Akpoti’s suspension had nothing to do with the petition.

…seeks collaboration on fight against corruption, others

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye, has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to enlist its staff in the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS).
Faleye made the call when he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede at its corporate headquarters in Abuja.
Briefing the EFCC chairman, Mr. Faleye said the visit was “To formally introduce and advocate for the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS), a crucial social security initiative that enhances employee welfare and protection.
He added that the visit also aimed at “exploring potential collaboration areas between NSITF and EFCC for the benefit of both organizations and national governance”.
The MD explained that ECS contribution is a manageable percentage of employees’ total monthly emoluments, making it a predictable and budget-friendly obligation.
Enumerating the key benefits of the scheme, Faleye said they to include: Coverage of medical expenses, disability benefits, death benefits for dependents and rehabilitation services for injured employees.
According to him, the mandate of the NSITF is to administer the scheme efficiently, ensuring that Nigerian workers are protected while organizations remain compliant.
He added that by subscribing to the ECS, the EFCC would enhance the welfare and morale of staff as it would “demonstrate EFCC’s commitment to the well-being of its workforce, boosting morale and productivity”
He noted that “The ECS absorbs the financial burden of work-related injuries, diseases, disabilities, or death, covering medical costs and compensation.
“While public institutions are expected to participate, EFCC’s voluntary subscription will align with best practices and reinforces its role as a compliant and responsible employer.
“Being an ECS subscriber will portray the EFCC as a socially responsible agency that prioritizes its employees’ welfare. By entrusting work-related injury compensation to NSITF, EFCC will focus on its core mandate of fighting economic and financial crimes”, he stated.
Reiterating the need for collaboration, Faleye said “We are eager to explore and formalize collaborative efforts between NSITF and EFCC for mutual benefit and national interest.
Highlighting the potential area of collaboration, the MD stressed that the EFCC’s insights on fraudulent claims and non-compliance can help NSITF enhance the integrity of ECS.
He also proposed joint capacity building sessions for personnel from both agencies on fraud detection and investigation related to workplace incidents and legal frameworks governing employee compensation and workplace safety.
Faleye said the NSITF could benefit from EFCC’s expertise in uncovering fraudulent ECS claims and enforcing compliance, strengthening the scheme’s credibility.
“We are open to any additional areas of collaboration that the EFCC may propose.”
The Employees’ Compensation Scheme was established by the Employees’ Compensation Act of 2010 to provide compensation to employees who suffer work-related injuries, diseases, disability and, or death.
It operates on a no-fault basis, ensuring that employees receive compensation regardless of the cause of the workplace incident.
The scheme is funded through employer contributions in both the public and private sectors.
In his response, the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, assured the Fund, of enhanced collaboration and involvement in the management of its fund.
According to him “We will continue to collaborate with you, particularly in the area of the management of funds, which has to be done in the most transparent and accountable manner. That is what we are here for. We need to let you know some of the things we have discovered in the course of our investigation so that going forward, you will not make the mistake of your predecessors”.
The Supreme Court on Friday, March 21, 2025, declared Senator Samuel Anyanwu, as the authentic National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The apex court set aside the judgement of the Court of Appeal in Enugu, which had recognised Sunday Udey-Okoye as secretary of the party at the expense of Anyanwu.
In its decision, the Supreme Court agreed with Anyanwu’s argument that both the Court of Appeal and the trial court in Enugu lacked the juridictional vires to hear the case, as it involved the internal affairs of the PDP.
THE CONCLAVE recalls that Anyanwu had left the position of narional secretary, sans resignation, to contest for Imo governorship election.
He had returned to his position in the party after losing in the guber poll.
His action had since become a subject of litigation as some entrenched forces challenged him, seeking court intervention to invalidate his return to the position of national scribe.
