A woman, Taibat Rahman, who lives in Ibadan , Oyo state capital, has been in the spotlight following a recent development over paternity of two kids.
The identity of the biological father of her two kids is at stake.
It was gathered that there was a dramatic scene on Wednesday as the three men in question had heated arguments and claimed to be the biological father of the children.
Taibat has also confirmed that she had sex with all of them and therefore may not really ascertain and identify the biological father of the kids among the three men while she later claimed that one among them is their biological father.
It was learned that they were all married to Taibat after helping her to clear her debts as demanded by her mother.
Interestingly, they all claimed to have helped her clear the said debts which had made them become qualified to marry her.
Drama began when two men claimed to be the biological father of each of the two kids and before getting a breather from that , another man surfaced and claimed to be the biological father of the two kids.
They made this revelation while appearing on Oriyomi Hamzat’s programme called Kokoro Alate on Agidigbo 88.7 FM in Ibadan on Wednesday.
One of the three men, Sharafa said when he met Taibat, she told him about the debts she owed and he had to sell his working tools to raise money and clear the debts.
However, a few days after they had their first child and held the naming ceremony, someone came and claimed to be the biological father which he found surprising, adding that his wife later exhumed the placenta that was already buried.
‘When I met her mother, she told me that whosoever pays off the debt will have her daughter taken home as his wife. I did and a few days after the naming ceremony of our first child, some people came to our house to claim ownership of the child. So, we were all taken to the police station and the Area Commander asked her who the father of her child was, and she answered that I was the father. So, I was told to go home with my child and wife.
The following day, she exhumed the baby’s placenta claiming that she was threatened and told that she will be embarrassed by the man who earlier claimed to be the biological father of my child over her debt if she didn’t bring the placenta. So, we went back to the Area Commander, and he asked her who the father of the child was again, and she changed her initial statement and said it was the other man who owns the child, and we were all surprised’ he said.
Another man, Oseni also claimed to be the biological father of the second child, disclosing that Taibat lived with him for eight months in 2023 after paying N40,000 from her debt.
He said after conceiving their second pregnancy, she lied to him that she had a miscarriage.
‘I have accepted that the second pregnancy was lost according to what she told me but I want my first child. She should give me my child, I have forfeited all the money I spent on her and her mother. All I want is my child’ he said.
The third man, Rauf, said he was surprised that Taibat had two other men while she was with him but insisted that he is the biological father of the two children.
‘I was surprised by this revelation. I never knew she had other men because we had been together for a long time. However, I am the father of the children’ he said.
