The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, has sounded a strong warning for 2025, describing it as a year of “strange battles” where intense prayer will be crucial for survival and success.
Speaking during the Church’s annual crossover service at the MFM Prayer City, Olukoya emphasized that the events of 2024 will flow directly into 2025, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere where prayerlessness could lead to dire consequences.
A Year of Strange Battles
Olukoya painted a vivid picture of the spiritual challenges ahead, stating, “The dark stars will fight to eliminate the shining stars; the tail will want to fight the head; the thief will be fighting the owner; those uncircumcised will like to kill the circumcised.” He cautioned that the year would witness power struggles where the spiritually unprepared could easily become casualties.
Describing 2025 as a year of “restoration and deliverance,” Olukoya said it holds promise for those who remain vigilant in prayer but warned against emerging infirmities and disgrace for those living false lives.
Moral and Spiritual Warnings
The cleric also addressed moral pitfalls, particularly warning married men against infidelity with “strange women.” He urged Christians to embrace forgiveness, stressing that unresolved grudges could hinder spiritual progress.
Quoting Acts 1:8, Olukoya emphasized the need for “divine power” to navigate the spiritual and physical challenges of the year. “You need power. Jesus told His disciples, ‘You shall receive power.’ Children of God need power to see divine opportunities.”
The Importance of Targeted Prayers
Olukoya highlighted the importance of focused and intentional prayers, citing David’s victory over Goliath as an example of spiritual triumph over physical strength. He urged Christians to adopt “violent prayers” as their weapon against demonic forces, emphasizing that “the only language demons understand is violent prayers.”
Using scriptures from Hosea 4:12, Psalm 119:18, Luke 24:30-31, and 2 Kings 6:8-17, Olukoya lamented the consequences of ignorance and fear, calling them barriers to divine elevation and success.
2025: My Year of Power and Undeniable Victory
Announcing the Ministry’s motto for 2025, Olukoya declared it as “2025: My Year of Power and Undeniable Victory,” anchored on scriptures from Acts 1:8, Psalm 108:13, Luke 10:19, and Romans 8:37.
The crossover service, which began with musical concerts at 4:00 PM on December 31, 2024, concluded at 5:10 AM on January 1, 2025, with a powerful Manna Water Service.
Dr. Olukoya’s message served as both a prophetic warning and a spiritual roadmap for Christians, urging them to embrace prayer, spiritual empowerment, and moral integrity in the year ahead.

Security operatives rescue kidnap victims in Imo waste two suspects
Security operatives comprising DSS officers, other agencies and local vigilantes have rescued a kidnap victim and neutralised two suspected kidnappers in Imo.
The Department of State Services (DSS) disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Owerri on Sunday.
According to the statement, the operatives rescued 29-year-old Ibeabuchi Adibenma, who was abducted in Orlu Local Government Area.
Adibenma was kidnapped at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, around Afor-Ogidi Market in Isiala Amaifeke community.
The victim was reportedly returning from Umuna, Orlu market, when the armed assailants intercepted his vehicle near the market.
The attackers operated on two motorcycles and double-crossed the victim before forcing him to an undisclosed location.
Following the abduction, the kidnappers contacted Adibenma’s family and demanded N15 million ransom for his release.
However, on Aug. 20, security operatives launched a coordinated operation to rescue the victim from his abductors.
According to the DSS, the operation led to Adibenma’s rescue at Ihioma Community in Orlu.
“Two suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate were neutralised during the operation, while two high-calibre weapons and ammunition were recovered.”
The rescued victim was subsequently taken into protective custody before being reunited with his family.
The DSS commended the coordinated efforts of the participating security agencies and local vigilantes in securing the victim’s safe release.
The successful operation also highlights ongoing security efforts against kidnapping and other criminal activities in communities across Imo.
