Tinubu had said in the letter: “I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate the four nominees listed as service chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

‎”Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Waheedi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, AVM Kennedy Aneke; and Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Adm. Idi Abbas and Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Olufemi Oluyede.

“While I hope that you will consider and confirm the nominees, please accept, Mr President, the assurance of my consideration and best regards”.

Tinubu had last Friday made changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs. This, he said was in furtherance of the efforts of the Federal Government of Nigeria to strengthen the national security architecture.
