Governor Bago, who became emotional while receiving the 100 children, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for their prompt intervention in rescuing and recovering the students.

He assured that the remaining students still in captivity would soon be rescued and reunited with their families.

He also called for sustained prayers toward their safe return and prayed that such an incident would never occur again in the state.

According to him, “Today is fundamental in redefining the history of Niger State. I am emotionally broken down due to the ages and sizes of these children.

“Medical officials have been directed to examine their health status to ensure they are healthy.”

Governor Bago added that the state government is working in collaboration with CAN, UNICEF, and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe return of all abducted students.
