…insists he is ready for positive dialogue not intimidation
FCT minister Nyesom Wike has bared it all over workers strike declaring that the Territory has fulfilled 10 out of 14 demands and ready for positive dialogue not intimidation from any quarter.
Wike disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Abuja over workers strike in the Territory. 
He said : “We have been always disposed to dialogue. Like I told you they have met with the management, they have met with the stakeholders :
‘What are the issues? We have tackled them before and before you know it they will go and do a different thing.
“If genuinely they say okay, we have seen what is going on, what has happened then we talk.
“But if on blackmail, intimidation, we will not agree. If you like go and hire all the civil servants in the whole world and take over Abuja, it’s not going to change things.
“If you’re requesting for 14 things and the government has met over 10 things, I mean you should be able to say we can give you some time.
“But every body spoke to them, the security, the administration spoke to them and we felt that there is more to it and we couldn’t allow that to happen.
“This is not my first time of having this kind of issue, I was Governor of Rivers State for eight years, I was chairman of local government, so I do know that if workers have legitimate demands and what the administration can do is to say these demands are legitimate but with what is on ground, it would be difficult to fully implement them.
“However we shall start with this. Give us some time we would have finished implementing it.
The minister explained that”I mean there is nobody that will think that if you are entitled to earn this and government will deny it, it’s not correct. When they talk about wages and that is why they don’t tell the public the truth.
” We’ve paid December, we are going to pay January, by the grace of God, by February we would have done the right thing.
