An operative of the Department of State Services (DSS) has opened fire on three residents of Karmajiji (Karon Majigi) village in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, killing two.
The DSS operative, identified as Ajayi Abayomi, has reportedly gone into hiding following the incident on January 19, 2026.
According to a police source, he has refused to honour an invitation sent to him to help with their investigation. 
Abayomi had earlier told the police that the shooting was unintentional, claiming he accidentally pulled the trigger of his pistol.
While Musa Adamu died a few hours after the incident on January 19, SaharaReporters learned that another victim, Mallam Suleiman Salisu, died on Wednesday, January 28, at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja.
