The order followed a suit marked HED/18/2026, filed by A. Mikaheel on behalf of Princes Babatunde Hammed Adegoke, Taofeek Adekunle Adegoke, Nathaniel Olaniyi Adelakun, Abiodun Adelakun and Olukunle Oyetunji.

The applicants instituted the suit on behalf of themselves and other members of the ruling house against Adeleke, the state Attorney-General, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Egbedore Traditional Council.

Others joined in the suit are Prince Mike Abiola, representing members of the Onimolodun Ruling House, and High Chief Falowo Jamiu Adebayo, representing the kingmakers and warrant chiefs involved in the selection of the traditional ruler.

The applicants had asked the court to restrain the defendants, their agents, representatives and successors from installing, appointing, declaring, recognising or accepting any candidate as the Olojo of Ojo until the hearing and determination of their motion on notice.

They also requested any other orders the court considered appropriate in the circumstances.

Justice K. Akano granted the interim injunction in an order dated October 29, 2026, a copy of which was obtained in Osogbo on Friday.

The judge specifically restrained the defendants and anyone acting on their behalf from installing or recognising any candidate as the Olojo of Ojo pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed on March 11, 2026.

The order was issued under the seal of the court in Ede on October 29, 2026.
