I sprayed Fanta into the river – Actor T.C Okafor who survived the Anam river accident reveals

In a recent development, actor T.C. Okafor has shared some more insights on actor Junior Pope Odonwodo’s death.

In a video which is making rounds on social media, he shared exactly what happened during the moments before Junior Pope died.

He revealed that they were all on the boats and what has started on a great note had soon turned ghastly.

He further stated that at some point during the boat ride, he had poured Fanta into the water while also feeding the river some crumbs of what he was eating.

He started that Junior Pope had inquired about what he was doing and he had revealed that he did not want anything bad to happen to him hence, while he was doing what he was doing.

Junior Pope on the other hand, had completely agreed with him.

The actor shares that he believes strongly that his act of pouring Fanta and other stuff into the water had played a pivotal role in him not dying.

Netizens also took to the comment section to agree with him as they shared stories of how important it was to appease the water goddesses before embarking on a trip on water.

Now recall that the Junior Pope had died in a drowning incident in Anambra State.

It was reported that he had drowned while he was on his way back from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat when they fell into Anam River in Anambra State.

Their bodies have since been recovered.

Before his death, the actor had shared a video of himself on a boat, praying frantically to arrive at his destination safely.

DJ Cuppy launches scholarship for African students

Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has introduced a scholarship programme to support African students at New York University (NYU).

The DJ and philanthropist announced the launch of the “Cuppy Fund” on Instagram, sharing her excitement about the initiative aimed at providing financial aid to African students pursuing studies at NYU.

“So PROUD to launch the Cuppy Fund for African students at New York University! 💜🎓🕊️ @cuppyfoundation @nyusteinhardt,” Cuppy wrote in her post.

Cuppy holds an impressive academic background. She earned a degree in business and economics from King’s College London in 2014 and completed a master’s degree in music business from NYU in 2015. In 2022, she graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in African studies, and she recently completed her fourth degree at the London School of Economics.

Her philanthropic efforts began in 2018 with the establishment of the Cuppy Foundation. The foundation raised over N5 billion for the “Save the Children” initiative in Nigeria in 2019.

In recognition of her charitable contributions, Cuppy was named an ambassador for the Lagos SDGs Youth Alliance in 2021.

This new scholarship programme marks another milestone in DJ Cuppy’s ongoing commitment to empowering African youth through education and philanthropy.
