‘I’ll continue acting even in my 90s’ – Kanayo O Kanayo

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has said he wishes to continue acting even when he turns 90.

The thespian stated this in the teaser of the upcoming episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, co-hosted by Nedu, Husband Material, and Deit Cole.

The 62-year-old lamented that the desperation to act by untalented people, especially ladies, poses a threat to the film industry.

“Many girls are desperate to act. You don’t come to Nollywood to learn how to act. Acting is in-built. If it’s not in you, go and sell crayfish.

“Let us run some people out of the [movie] industry. I want a situation where at 70, 75, 80, 90, I will still be acting,” he said.

The veteran movie star also alleged that drug abuse and homosexuality have taken over Nollywood.

Kanayo began acting career in 1982, acting in productions by the Nigerian Television Authority. He made his debut movie appearance in the year 1992 in the film Living in Bondage.

He has starred in over 200 movies.

Few days after she was slammed with an indefinite suspension by the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, for tarnishing the image of the association, ace Actress, Halima Abubakar, recanted the adultery allegation she raised against a popular clergy, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Halima had on several occasions, dragged the name of the clergy to the mud, alleging that he dumped her, despite many intimate moments they had together.

The actress, who was terribly sick at a time, allegedly sponsored several defamatory publications against the Edo-born clergy whom she alleged had also had intimate affairs with other prominent actresses.

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory had since slammed damages against Halima for defaming the preacher.

Meanwhile, years after her allegations came to light, the actress has come out to apologise, revealing that she told lies against the clergy/founder of Omega Fire Ministry.

“I admit that I made false allegations against you; and also regret my actions and damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministry.”

“I am truly sorry for all the hurts and distress I caused you, your family and your ministry. Thank you very much and may heaven calm your heart. God bless you Sir,” the actress added in the personal letter of apology she addressed to the Apostle.

The Only Thing That’s Changed About Me Is The Money I Have Now, I’m Still Original

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Inetimi Alfred Odom popularly known as Timaya, said he has been an original right from time and does not have anything to hide.

The singer in a chat with Channels Television said what people say about him doesn’t itch him as he sees people’s thoughts about him like ‘fried eggs and bread’.

“How somebody sees me doesn’t bother me. I’ve gone past those things. What you think or how you think are like fried eggs and bread,” he said.

Timaya, reflecting on his journey thus far, noted that the only thing that has changed about him is the money he has now. Looking at how far he has evolved from a plantain seller to a notable voice in the music industry, the singer says he looks better than where he is coming from.

“I’m not doing anything bad. I’m original. I’ve been like this all my life. The only thing I know that people can say is that I’m a very blunt guy, I speak my mind and I’m not afraid of anybody… I’m not a fraudster, I don’t have anything to hide,” he said.

“It is very difficult when you are trying to live a life that you are not. The only thing that has changed is the money that I have now. From a plantain boy, now I look better not like I was that bad but I was bad.”

He also talked about his ninth album, Gladiator, and the events that inspired the album’s name.

Bobrisky Spends Night Behind Police Bar, Transferred To FCID Annex In Lagos

The police said Bobrisky also spent last night in a cell at the police facility, according to a police source.

The Nigerian police authorities have confirmed that controversial crossdresser, Okuneye Idris, more commonly known as Bobrisky has been transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex.

The source added that further directives were being awaited regarding Bobrisky’s case, PUNCH reports.

The police said the crossdresser said that he was taken to the FCID for safekeeping following his arrest by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service during his attempt to exit the country through the Seme border.

The source said, “Bobrisky was brought to the FCID, Alagbon, around 10pm on Monday. Immigration arrested him at Seme Boarder and brought him for safekeeping.

“He is in detention at the FCID, Alagbon. He was arrested on Sunday, detained overnight, and taken to the FCID, Alagbon, around 10pm on Monday. He is still at the FCID.”

Confirming Okuneye’s detention, the spokesperson for the FCID, Lagos, Mayegun Aminat, during a conversation with PUNCH on Tuesday, said,

“He is detained at FCID Alagbon. He is with us and we are to get a remand to keep him in custody today.”

The spokesperson for the NIS, Kenneth Udo, in a statement on Monday evening, described Okuneye as a person of interest over recent issues of public concern.

“In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country.

“He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders,” Udo said.

The Nigerian Immigration Service on Monday night confirmed the arrest of crossdresser Idris Okunleye, popularly known as Bobrisky

This was disclosed in a press statement by the security operative which the media obtained, revealing that the crossdresser is presently being interrogated.

The statement had read, “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye IdrisOlanrewaju otherwise known as Bobriskyat the Seme Border over an attempt to Exit the Country.

“The Service wishes to inform the public that OKUNEYE IDRIS is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate Authorities for further action.

“The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders.”

Naijablitznews recalls the media had reported that Bobrisky was arrested on Monday morning while attempting to escape to the Benin Republic.
